Big problem I have right now is McDaniels seeming to get cute, and we had 8 of our 22 regulars out though it sounds like multiple were healthy enough, they just wanted to give them a bit of extra time to heal. Just a complete **** show last night all around. Im not worried, we’ll recover, but...

I'm a Dodger hater but I have no issue with this. Just means one more superstar can be added to their roster, but they're also going to be losing $46 MM to the CBT once Ohtani leaves, which tells me they should be unreal the next 10 years, but probably really struggling the following 10.

Also to put us all in a dark place on this Monday night David Bote will be making 2.5x more money in 2024 from his baseball team than Shohei Ohtani.

I like to use this site to dink around and see fair and/or reasonable trades. https://www.baseballtradevalues.com/trade-simulator I bring this up as Bleacher Nation brought up the idea of the Mets possibly trading Alonso if Yamamoto goes anywhere else. So I checked in on what Morel for Alonso...

My previous post was planning ahead for 2025 - I side with you for 2024. Need to get 1 SP for sure and 2 bats.

I'd like to think we could get a 2025 rotation in which Horton and Steele are fighting with each other for the #3/last rotation spot in the postseason to be a statement on just how good the 1 and 2 are.

According to baseballtradevalues.com, Horton, Morel, Wicks, and Alcantara are just enough to get Witt. However, the Royals have been pretty open about wanting to find a way to make sure they never let him leave KC. And I'm not sure I'd even give up Witt for that.

Unfortunately Swanson absolutely shitting the bed all August and September has led to some people thinking he’s not as great as he is. Cheap and a hell of a defender. Would like to see him be more of a consistent threat with the bat but I’ll take it

Don’t disagree - for clarity, I’m not saying PCA isn’t the future CF (I absolutely think he is) However, you are not building a playoff roster if you go into the season saying a kid who went 0-19 in his first taste is going to automatically be our starter. Give him time to learn the ropes...

I wouldn’t mind trying Happ at 1B. I like Happ but as I and some national media believe, Happs Gold Glove says more about the quality of play in LF than it does Happs defense. Only concern is, at 6’0”, he’d be on the really short end of first basemen. We had Matt Stairs at 5’9” in 2001 but...

Another potential FA I wouldn't totally hate - Justin Turner, 1 year, $12 MM. Projections have him hitting between .260-.270, 15-20 dongs. Can mentor 1B/3B. Evidently is close with Craig Counsell. Allows you to figure out what position you need to get a superstar for in 2025.

I'm fine with not spending $15 MM/year the next 3 years and seeing the same ******** from him we saw the last 2 months of the season. Aside from his first week as a Cub, he was not good here.

Best FA fits, sure. I'd rather see us make a deal with our glut of prospects for a big bat over Hoskins. But I don't know which direction I'd go for that.

He is more of a household name based on his first couple of years in the league. But I wouldn't argue he is significantly better. Since 2021, Wisdom hits homeruns at a higher rate, walks 1% less, and strikes out 12% more. Percentage wise, Wisdom has a higher rate of scoring runners in scoring...

My moves if I'm Jed would be to shift focus on 2025 while building a playoff roster for 2024. Esesentially, just don't go over the $237 luxury tax this year with plans to blow it out of the water next year. You still need 2 threatening bats. I don't know where they find them. My wish list: -...

Just my fight for why I want Bellinger - I would rather pay him $25 MM/year to mentor CF and 1B and occasionally play RF to cover Suzuki's poor defense than pay $18 MM/year for a 1B who hasn't played baseball in 18 months, has limited defense, and is similar to Wisdom offensively.
