Looks like they are installing auger cast today starting on the East end lower level. They have the grout pump staged on the higher elevation with concrete trucks backed up to it. -

I hope they aren't laying down all that nice looking gravel for the auger-cast installation and have to replace a bunch of it when spoils are removed. We'll see... -

Looks like PCI is exporting fill dirt from here to North of DMACC Ames Campus in which they are exporting dirt from there to somewhere else in town. -

I don't know what the thickened slab area would do for you around the perimeter; I would expect that with a block wall but not a stick framed shed; again there isn't very much load at all on the concrete. -

I would think a 4" slab would be more than enough. It's not like you are loading the slab with tremendous weight or anything. I would second the welded wire fabric, but if you don't it's not going to kill you. Support it off the sub-grade with some concrete bricks or something similar. If it... -

Getring ready to do Garage Floor. Advice?
Ideally you'd put down a vapor barrier below the slab to prevent moisture coming up through the slab and causing the epoxy to release from the substrate. Cleaning the dlab , soap, acid etc needs to be completed yo remove any oils, moisture, etc. That would cause the epoxy to flake. -
