Maybe it’s just me but anytime I go somewhere and the Turkey isn’t dry as ****, I’m impressed. I’ve always said Turkey is just dry chicken. Butterball hasn’t let me down when I’ve been the holiday chef.
Was that your thread asking about fresh turkeys?
Ive never not been happy with one. Butterball seems to be a stable in Turkey quality but I’ll find out this weekend. Aldi still had them under a buck a pound. I can’t imagine paying more than double for a fresh one is worth it. It’s way more...
The plan is to spatchcock, set smoker to 225 until it hits 110ish and finish off at 375. It’s a butterball so I wasn’t planning on doing any brining or anything with it. By request of a family member, I’m using Rudy’s Turkey Rub for the seasoning.
Ended up with Covid again this week. Holy **** that sucked waaaaaay more than the other times. Every day was a new symptom and they were all equally as ******.
This is awesome. I like seeing creative punishments for these types of chodes.

I’ve been waiting for my 15 year old Craftsman to die but it just fires up first pull every year. I’ve changed the oil once. It just won’t quit. I want to get on the EGO train so I can get one of these.
My neighbor got an EGO last year and it chews through snow from what I can tell. They're older and I did their driveway for years during heavier snows. I didn’t have to touch it last winter even with the wet half frozen piles after the plow came through.
