    Dinner With Schmucks

It's an adaptation of a French film called "The Dinner Game", which I have heard good things about. I haven't heard much positive about the American version. though, which is sad.

I'd agree with Al. Dirty John's is still the best place in the state, but Cyclone Liquors and Beer Crazy are catching up. I'm grateful to live just a mile or two from the Fleur Hy-Vee, which is my store of choice :) Just picked up some shipyard XXXX today!

Direct TV help/Hooking up to a new dish?

Yes, it's pretty damn easy to do, as long as you don't care about HD. If you want HD, you're going to spend some time and pull some hair out aiming the dish. The old school 3LNB dishes are a lot easier to aim.

Hub City was started by a couple of homebrew farmers, if I understand the story right. They've just had some issues scaling. I dont' think they intend to brew crappy beer, but I don't think they understood what it takes to get to scale with a quality product. Plus the business side of...

The beer guy at Dirty John's in Iowa City (until quite recently, the absolute best place to get beer in Iowa, unfortunately) told me that Hub City was actually really good stuff when it first came out, they just haven't scaled well. Also, they had an infection of some sort at one point and had a...

I think the atmosphere is typical brewpub. Nothing too exciting, but it serves it's purpose. I like how the serving/fermentation vessels and the MLT/brewkettles are all visible from the bar area. It's not perfect, but it's not awful either. As far as building a brewery from scratch, sure...

What's with all the Rock Bottom hate? Just because it's a chain, doesn't mean that the beer is bad. ALL of the beers are each individual rock bottom are unique and brewed on-site with the exception of the airport one in MSP. You cannot get any of the same beer at a Rock Bottom in Colorado...

Is ISU safe? Could the Big 12 still implode?

Is it just me, or does A&M have the WORST case of short man syndrome of any school in the country? All I can see when I hear them whining is how much they hate being in the shadow of Texas. It's kind of amusing. I wish they would just accept their place as Texas' *****.

    Peace Tree Brewery

It's "OK". Definitely on the plus side of average, but nothing I get too excited about. It has potential for sure. All-in-all, they are on the right track, but aren't quite to the destination yet. I've heard great things about their actual facilities, and I'm hoping they make a go of it and...

And there's only snow on the ground in Iowa, what, 5 months a year? I get what you're saying. I enjoy biking. I'm not saying it's bad. You're just going to have different health goals with cycling than you would with a program like P90X. And the benefit of getting into a routine with P90X is...

Except when it's raining. Or except when it's miserably hot outside. Or except when it's miserably cold outside. And that's all given that you've got a good trail system to ride on, otherwise you're taking your life into your own hands on the public roads most places. And let's not forget...

Like I said, it depends on the type of lifting you do. If you do more reps with less weight, it will work more on enhance muscle endurance than it will building strength and size. You can certainly achieve the same results that you get from p90x in the gym with a properly designed...

Just a point - you can certainly go to the gym and get the same results you'd get from P90X. You just have to lift differently than you would if you're trying to put on mass. And obviously your diet is a huge factor. There's no such thing as "lean muscle". All muscle is lean. It's the fat...

    Sweet A-10 video

Until the Air Force trades it off to the Army for ADA assets or otherwise tries to get it out of the inventory like they've been trying to for the last 25 years. I love the MDS, but it's always been the bastard stepchild of the Air Force aviation community (aside from the guys that fly things...

    Men's Multivitamins?

I take the generic Costco/Kirkland Centrum knock-off, along with their fish oil. I've also heard good things about GNC's Mega Men, but it's a fair bit more expensive. I agree that if you have a good diet, it's probably not necessary. That being said, I use them like an insurance plan in case...

If the goal is to lose weight, remember that the workout is just part of the program. Diet is equally, if not more, important. I've done a few of the workouts, and they are really pretty tough. If you're not in pretty good shape to begin with, I could see it being quite frustrating.

    Your Cell Phone

I've got a palm pre. I actually really love the phone. The OS is the best mobile OS out there, IMO. The hardware is a little flaky, and a bit long in the tooth. I'll probably be sticking with HP/Palm for my next device though. There should be new hardware coming out in the next couple of...
