    I said seven wins. Not sure who ever said 8 wins. I have sat through games with Bruce, Duncan, Criner, McCarney, Rhoads and now Campbell as head coach. I sort of even remember Johnny Majors as head coach I have lived and breathed Iowa State football And I still say 7 wins should be the floor.

    I didn't say I expected 8-10 wins this year. Show me where I said that. I said I saw seven to 8 wins -- not unrealistic. A win over Ohio would have put Iowa State at 3-1 going into the Oklahoma game. A win over Iowa -- which seemed a reasonable expectation after beating Iowa at Iowa last year...

    I will use this year's schedule as an example and to clarify my post. Realistically, at the start of this season, I thought there was a good possibility ISU would have 7-8 wins. One of those wins was of course to Ohio. I also thought Iowa was a winnable game at the beginning of the season...

    I haven't read any of the posts in this thread. I am writing my initial response to the OP's question so hopefully I can be forgiven if I repeat some of you. I don't want Campbell gone any more than I wanted McCarney or Rhoads gone. I just would like it if ISU could consistently win 8-10 games...

    I think you are wrong about Purdy's development after Iowa State. It is not a knock on Iowa State when saying Purdy received additional coaching after Iowa State -- which is a fact -- and he was receptive to it and learned from it.
