    I was hoping for Johns because it seems he runs a more modern system. Lester as an OC hasn’t been good at all. When he was at Syracuse they ranked over 100. Very puzzling hire IMO. So dumb it might actually work? At least that is what I’m hoping for.

    I for one would like this hire, which probably means it won’t happen. He has no affiliation to Iowa or KF and has been pretty successful everywhere he has been. M

    I think it is because of necessity and not necessarily what he wants. Fran tries to recruit black players, but has a hard time getting them to come to Iowa. I’m guessing that he doesn’t and isn’t getting the support needed to get those players especially in the NIL era.

    Would be $8.52 million after this year. Beth either needs to pay the buyout or add a year into his contract after this year since he will only have 4 years remaining after this year. Without reupping him for one more year, the buyout next year would be $6.48 million. So she would save 2 million...

    Says Iowa averaged 6,800 in Gustafson’s senior year. Almost double the 4K that was cited here.

    Agree with everything except #5. Carver does great for wrestling and woman’s bball and has shown to be a great venue for men’s bball up until the Alford years.

    Nothing wrong with having Iowa players that are good enough for this level (Wieskamp, the Murray’s, Uthoff), the problem is Fran has always been a terrible recruiter and NIL is only magnifying that. Actually really amazing what Iowa accomplished under Fran considering his lack of recruiting.

    Iowa fans do a great job with other sports. Maybe they are just tapped out money and time wise. Iowa football, wrestling and women’s bball all do great with two of those being inside CHA.

    I’m fine with last night because Iowa wasn’t making the tourney even with a win last night. Might not make the NIT, which I’m kind of hoping for at this point. Iowa needs to move on from Fran. It’s time.

    Which makes it so odd that he isn’t contributing at all. I figured he would be a starter averaging about 10 and 4 a game. Obviously that was way too high of expectations, but that isn’t unheard of at all for a 5 star player either.

    I think ideal for him would be 330 if he wants to stay tackle. 350 for a guard.
