If it turns into the SEC title game in January, ratings will drop at some point. We saw that with the LSU/Bama rematch. It will likely still be highly profitable long term, but when you alienate anyone that is not a blue blood, have at it.
I honestly do not care about the national title. The Big 12 race is much more interesting. If ESPN wants to turn the national title into figure skating where the results are already determined, go for it. The average CFB fan will quickly not care about the national title.

Updated McMurphy projection. OU in cotton bowl and ISU playing ******* Memphis in Memphis. ffs
Bought a case of Ames Lager for Deer Hunting this weekend. It’s hard work getting black out drunk and killing forest rats, but someone’s gotta do it god dammit
It's an SEC tie in and they don't have enough teams to fill the Liberty. So the Liberty goes to at-large. No idea how they are getting Memphis out of the AAC though.
It's a non-conference game along with KSU/Arizona. Just not enough time to change the non-cons.
Those games results need to be used for championship tie-breakers though IMO
Fit’s the ISU model. A guy ISU recruited out of high school who played well at a lower level who is looking for a shot to move up a level. He’s been on campus even
Hope this doesn’t mean ISU lost a DT though
Texas bowl seems hell bent on having local teams. They’ve only had 1 game since 2011 that didn’t have a Texas, Louisiana, or Oklahoma school.
OSU probably gets it this year if they’re available. Hopefully they are not.
I’m surprised that McMurphy basically didn’t change his Big 12 picks from last week. Pop Tarts and Texas are just set on KSU & OSU? 2 teams that ISU beat?
I guess it makes some sense in that both KSU & OSU are ranked currently, but hopefully KSU falls out of the rankings on Tuesday nights
SMU in the Liberty is interesting. I’d be fine with that for ISU. They are kind of a power 5 team
But Palm is also terrible at these things. I’m patiently waiting for McMurphy’s projections as he’s the best IMO
If the Liberty does take WVU (I don’t think they will), the odds of playing a Power 5 are good in the Phoenix or Fort Worth bowls. I just don’t think ISU will get there
