    I agree completely with you, would love to buy a house as it makes much more sense except for this. I'm a grad student who finishes my degree in 2 years- more than likely not staying in Ames for career so don't have the advantage of building equity and then have to deal with selling a house...

    For sale doesn't help, unless you want to sell it nice and cheap. and I mean real cheap. Also, I have done the craigslist deal a lot and it is not yielding much, thought I'd try my friends on CF. Also, thought if you help me i can help you as I'll be here for a while and am a good renter.

    For all of those Cashner haters: stop it. He has developed a good third pitch and has a good 4th pitch coming along, if you follow the spring reports at all. IMO this year is to get Cashner ready for the future. He's going to be a starter so they want him to get experience, that's great news...

    I'm going to try to answer some of the questions/points brought up in this thread: 1. I love the Quade hire. It's a rebuilding team that nobody expects much out of, why overpay for someone for those years, plus he only signed a 2 year deal. Also, I think he's going to be a dang good coach...

    Who's going pheasant hunting this weekend?

    It's a combo of everything. The CRP is disappearing as land is more valuable, the hard winters have killed many birds cause they can't find food, and coyotes/feral cats are up. Not to mention wet springs washing out road ditches that birds like to lay eggs in.

    Anybody out there going hunting? Don't know if the bird population is good, but I sure want to try to find a few. If anyone in the Ames area wants someone to hunt with them let me know, I'm planning on just driving around to look for birds and talk to farmers.

    did you watch the game? Iowa's D gave up 13 points, not too bad. If you don't consider the TD after the block punt at the 8 yard line. Arizona's D is good, and blitzed well. The pick six is on the WR, no Stanzi. I realize AZ had some bonehead plays as well, but to say that Iowa's D was bad...
