    Big 12 Expansion (new thread)

The committee is pretty careful to put BYU into the Thursday - Saturday draws in the Tournament

    Big 12 Expansion (new thread)

I don't disagree. The challenge is how to handle 7 - 10,000 posts per day in an efficient format. As I said before, on days like this where there is an even higher volume (already over 5,000 posts) it becomes more like a chat room than a message board

    Big 12 Expansion (new thread)

I have nothing against Baylor, but BYU would have been a much stronger add to the original B12. Texas was always going to be Texas and there isn't anything that any other school or partner could do to curb that massive ego. I don't think anyone can say what would have happened in an alternative...

    Big 12 Expansion (new thread)

I agree that Cougarboard can be a really hard read - so many posts that it becomes almost a chat room. The Top 10 posts on the right side of the page give a good overview of the more significant topics

    Big 12 Expansion (new thread)

BYU has wanted B12 affiliation for a long time (really since 1996 when we thought it might happen and then again in 2011 and 2016). The BYU board (cougarboard.com) is trilled. We have had a great football schedule in September and October, but no meaningful November games for a decade. Now we...

    Big 12 Expansion (new thread)

Since our record against UT is 4 - 1 and against OU is 2 - 0 we basically claim ownership of both brands If you haven't seen this it's from BYU's game against UT in 2014 and is worth the 2 minutes to watch:

    Big 12 Expansion (new thread)

a few leaks starting to come out from BYU that the contract with the B12 is signed, but nothing official from BYU yet BYU fans could not be more excited (and given we play Utah this weekend that's saying something)

I don't think I realized what a hypocritical position you just pointed out.

    Big 12 Expansion (new thread)

I will admit that I don't remember much about that game except that ISU was really good and I trust that whatever caused your player (who seems very much a class act) to be so ticked off was an isolated deal. I have been to a lot of games (both football and basketball) over many years and have...

    Big 12 Expansion (new thread)

We'll be just fine. In the 1980s and 90s BYU won the WAC football championship almost every year and it meant every team hated BYU. While that wasn't so much the case in the Mountain West (TCU and Utah got better) that old bitterness never went away meaning that there was a lot of vitriolic...

    Big 12 Expansion (new thread)

If Ames or Morgantown or Stillwater or Manhattan or Lubbock will bring more of a culture shock than Laramie then I take my hat off to all of you.

    Big 12 Expansion (new thread)

I grew up in Northern Missouri in the old Big 8 and have always hoped for a B12 invite over the P12. BYU makes more geographic sense in the P12 (we just brought over 40,000 fans to Las Vegas), but the P12 has no tolerance for a conservative religious school. BYU fans are literally thrilled with...

    Big 12 Expansion (new thread)

Full disclosure: BYU fan here (joined your board in 2016 when it looked like we might join then and I have stayed basically as a quiet visitor since). Like all BYU fans I am excited about the B12 prospects and look forward to new opportunities with a bunch of quality programs (both football and...

Sounds like the network partners aren't onboard

The assumption has been that because of the ESPN relationship BYU could pretty easily transition into the B12 in 2017 and rumors out of the BYU camp say that they have already started discussions with at least one team (ECU) to get out of a 2017 game. I am not sure how readily...

Sounds like the network partners aren't onboard

Yes ESPN does own the rights to all the BYU home games (except one each year that gets broadcast over BYUTV).
