    Iowa vs Iowa State 2015

I'm looking forward to Lanning and Warren playing together. I think playaction passing provides the biggest plays on offense. A well timed post/fade with max pass pro 3-4 times a game creates big plays/flips field position/tds. Warren and Lanning will help the olineman because both have the...

Did CPR recruit Josey Jewell at all?

Just because a family grows up Hawk fans, doesn't mean that can't change. My relative grew up in North central iowa. Huge hawk fan. Offered full ride to play DL at ISU in 1997. Family is now Cyclone fans. Coaches build relationships with hs athletes. Things can change.

    Question on offseason workouts/practice

ISU football players are far from "weak". Watch the video about the strength and conditioning program. ISU Football Our football team is working hard. If you have ever played football beyond high school you can understand the toll that football takes on your body. The mental part is very...

    Another New Commitment (Durrell Givens)

I agree with guys "fitting" the system. If you are going to run the spread, five wide, you better fill your roster with athletic kids. If you are going to run the pro I, you better have a stud FB and a great tailback. If you are going to run the west coast, you better have a pocket passer...

    2005 vs 2009 talent

I love the posts but I wonder what everyone's thoughts were prior to the 2005 season and if out of the 2005 starters, how many were a big suprise to Cyclone fans.

New commit runs ISU’s offense in high school

The amount of information that college coaches are willing to give out about their offense and schemes has allowed a lot of high school football coaches to run schemes similar to what you see on Friday nights. Plus, a lot of high school football coaches that are becoming head coaches played...

    USF turned down again.....

Has anyone considered the age of our new DC and the possibility that Ash may step into that role in a couple years here at ISU. Its a thought.

    Early Game-Day thread- NDSU

Gotta Love that Quote....BUT...Talk is cheap. I hope we are gearing up to actually back it up with our play.

    Jake Knott

I am good friends with the Waukee LB coach and told me that Knott is a FREAK! He is a stud LB, a great athlete, and one of the hardest working kids that you will ever come around. On top of that he is an Iowa kid. Put kids like that at ISU and we will turn this program around.

    Starting Positions

Kids can improve in the offseason. I am sure they were not satisfied with last season and a chip on their shoulders could lead to so significant gains in the weight room. We won't know until the season starts.

How did you become a Cyclone fan?

I grew up a Hawk fan until I was 6 or 7....then I realized that the majority of Hawk fans were arrogant and jerks (in the town I lived in) Lol......I switched at that time, became the lone Cyclone fan in my grade and have been loyal ever since that time. One of the best decisions in my life...

    Importance of in state recruiting

People have their own rights to their own opinions but like I said.....This is www.cyclonefanatic.com This is for cyclone fans. I have never been to an Iowa Hawkeye message board. I am a cyclone fan.

    2 scholarships left

This is true...I really think we have to go to bowl games to get these kids to come here. Iowa goes to bowl games. The backups get bowl rings, ipods, dvd players, etc....from the bowl game. They get a free vacation to Florida or Texas. We have to get to bowl games to compete for 4 star kids...

    Recruiting Article from CFN

Beau has some of those qualities from the videos I watched. He was fun to watch in those videos and I think he will be a great player for ISU in a couple years. Troy Davis wasn't huge. We tend to forget about the things that really drive somebody to be great. A chip on the shoulder of a kid...

    Official Signing Day Thread

There are some OL guys in the state of Iowa not yet signed. It will be interesting to see if CPR offers preferred walk on or grayshirt to some of those type of kids.

Brandon Mims and Walter Woods (committs)

ISU wouldn't waste their money on a recruit if we didn't want him.

Brandon Mims and Walter Woods (committs)

I agree. Seneca was a freak...against legit competition in college. Reggie Bush was a stud...in college. These boys are playing high school competition. I know they will improve and get better if they come to ISU, but lets see how they develop before we compare them to ISU football's most...

    ISU lands a QB Commitment

Size means less for a QB now in the spread. Does he have a good arm? Can you make good decisions? Can you make a pre-snap read and get the ball out on time. Plus, the spread has the ability to move guys around in the pocket because you have less guys on the LOS. We have to bring in a solid...

    The next Todd Blythe?

Todd was a great Cyclone football player. He was fun to watch and I would love to have more players on the football team who represented ISU the way Todd did.
