    Realignment Megathread (All The Moves)

If you are trying to pull the mountain schools, you offer them a full share of revenue if they come now. If they want to wait and see if Oregon and Washington stick around, go ahead, but if that implodes you will not be getting a full share for a few years if they come later.

Tyrese Hunter Entering the Transfer Portal - NIL Speculation

The answer is always panties. Act like you've done this before.

Mark Adams allegedly denies Terrance Shannon from heading to Michigan.

If I read the article correctly, he needed additional classes from Tech this summer to get into Michigan, but was able to get into Illinois with the credits he already had. I don't blame Tech for not paying for his summer classes to get him eligible to transfer to Michigan.

    The “We Will” Collective

I'm right there with you. I don't have nearly the interest in sports that I used to have. Saying that, I will probably contribute, so that grandkids can get excited about ISU sports and follow a hopefully competitive team.

    Ref Attacked After the Buzzer

What I can't understand is when did it become common for a group to attack one person. That is what I find disturbing.

Pac-12 to decide whether to expand within a couple weeks

The Pac 12 is already second class status. They are paid less than all other conferences by a significant amount. As has been said, if they don't take this opportunity to expand they are dead men walking too. They may continue to exist but they will be left in the dust as far as competing with...

MLB: ***Official 2021 Chicago Cubs Season Thread***

Things haven't gone the way anyone would want recently, but the team has made the playoffs five of the last six years (only year they didn't make it they lost a tie breaker), won a World Series, made it to two additional League Championship Series, and won the division three of the six years...

MLB: ***Official 2021 Chicago Cubs Season Thread***

The Cubs' only big free agent move since Heyward was signing Darvish. Their mantra under this front office has been that they would draft and develop hitters and buy pitching. Maybe that is changing, but I haven't heard that. I would expect the Cubs to be involved in signing a big name pitcher...

MLB: ***Official 2021 Chicago Cubs Season Thread***

The Cubs should be looking for a first division starter in the OF, IF, and SP, in the next offseason, either by trade or free agency. It doesn't matter what infield position is added, although the best free agents available next year will likely be SS or 3B. That should make them competitive...

Report: OU & Texas reach out to join SEC

If it were $1,000 sure. But no way you give up the millions it is going to cost Texas and Oklahoma for causing this mess.

Where Will ISU End Up if the Big 12 Implodes?

The only incentive is that if expanding is inevitable, right now they have the pick of who they want. If they wait a couple years, they are reaching into the conference that is made up of the leftovers.

WR Brody Brecht: ISU vs Iowa

The baseball draft is different. If you don't sign a pick in your top ten you lose the slot money that goes with the pick. So you can't afford to not sign a pick. After round ten there are no assigned slots. Brecht will probably get drafted sometime after that. The organization is not on the...

Unfortunately, the salary cap forces rebuilds unless you can replace highly paid players with young and talented players from within your system. When you are required to pay a player, and the league, 1.5 times what another team under the cap has to pay for that same player, and also pony up a...

Nope. The starting rotation is absolutely pathetic with Kyle giving up gopher balls at the rate he is.

It's not about want. It's about what is smart. Do you want to pay him like a generational talent and get his pedestrian numbers from the last three years? Free agent contracts rarely work out for the team. There is enough recent evidence that he isn't going to be worth what he is likely to make...

Probably not, but if the Cubs would make the playoffs, I would expect the same fate as last year's appearance.

I would sign all of these guys if the contracts were reasonable, but that isn't usually how it works in free agency. I would be a hard pass on Javy, unless he ends up getting much less than I think he will. He is never going to improve his strike zone judgment and once he loses some bat speed...
