He is a possibility but I think it would be well trod ground. Tyrion certainly hates her enough to kill her but I don't think that Martin or the show writers want to repeat themselves. It just has a much more poetic ending if Cersei finally turns Jaime against her and in a fit of rage, he kills her. -

There is a scene from the trailer for season 6 where you see the Tyrell army at the steps of the great sept and Margary is visible. It could be that they are going to make her walk and the army has come to prevent it. I don't think Cersei is lying about this. -
