    Big 10 Expansion Notes

I'm sure current academic standing is one thing the Big 10 is looking at, and I am just as certain that future academic capabilities are another. Nebraska's new innovation campus doesn't help them today, but it will definitely improve their future as a research institution.

NU Again Considers Expansion To Memorial Stadium

I took a tour of Memorial Stadium in 2000 which was not long after they finished the Press/Sky box on the west sideline, and they said back then that the future plans were to build another skybox/locker room/football offices/weight room on to the north stadium and then after that they would...

Sporting News: Clones taking 5th in the North

The corners name is Prince Amukamara. Was 1st team All Big 12 last year and is preseason 1st team All American in many of the magazines along with Jared Crick.

Great Article on recruiting and the economy

Very interesting read by Ivan Maisel about the talent pool in the Rust Belt. How economic downturn has affected Rust Belt states and college football recruiting - ESPN

Texas AD Talks of forming Longhorn TV Network

Tom Shatel from the Omaha World Herald alluded to this about a month or so ago. It was the first I had heard of such an idea. In his article, he basically said this is the reason the Big 12 hasn't formed their own network yet. If Texas decides to form their own, it would be tough for the Big 12...

Did you read the first half of my paragraph? BTN will not have the negotiating power in St. Louis or KC. Sure, the Mizzou fans would like to the get the Big 10 network if they join the Big 10, but there is a big difference between wanting the Big 10 network and a willingness to leave a cable...

They are a large national draw. Obviously not on the same level as ND. I tried to look up TV ranking numbers and was unsuccessful, but I know their ESPN televised games are always a very well above average draw for that normal time slot compared to other games. To comment on the other post...

Most national talking heads are saying Nebraska makes more sense than Missouri. Missouri obviously has a larger population, but Nebraska football draws a much larger TV audience. There would be a lot more new subscriptions to the Big 10 network because of Nebraska than because of Missouri.

Won't the Big 10 have some type of cross division scheduling each year like the Big 12 does? So, Iowa will play ND, Nebraska, Wisconsin and Mizzou every year and probably get set up to play Penn St one year, Michigan the next, then Ohio State the year after that. That's a pretty tough conference...

Beebe to give Neb and Mizzou ultimatum

I think Nebraska is the lone dissenter because it doesn't need the extra money from the game being played in Dallas as much as the other north schools do. They would rather have the game in KC every other year with the possibility that if they are playing in the game they would have a "home"...

Beebe to give Neb and Mizzou ultimatum

I know some people on here often post links to the OWH and JournalStar, but probably the best, most unbiased, Nebraska beat writer is Sam McKewon. I say this because he wrote a pretty good article this week when the KC sports station broke the story about Mizzou, Neb, ND, and Rutgers being...

Beebe to give Neb and Mizzou ultimatum

Pollard isn't "going public" because no one in the media is asking him about it, because no one thinks ISU is a serious option to join the Big 10. The only reason Harvey Perlman and Tom Osborne are talking about it is because they are being asked about it all the freaking time. Missouri is the...

Three Big 12 Players Named Lindsy's Pre-Season All Americans

I sort of agree with you about Crick. I actually think Nebraskas pass rush will improve off the edge this year. Barry Turner was a disappointment after a very good freshman season. Cameron Meredith was a RSFr last season, and was getting more and more PT away from Turner as the year went on. He...

Three Big 12 Players Named Lindsy's Pre-Season All Americans

I love how everyone thinks Nebraskas defense is now going to drop off so far without Suh. Yes, Suh was an amazing player, but it's not like he was their entire defense. I know Iowa State fans like to make fun of Pelini, but the fact is the guy is an amazing defensive coach. His track record...

    Lincoln Approves New Haymarket Arena

It will never happen, Big 10 rule or not. Lincoln people would absolutely flip out if the University allowed alcohol to be sold at sporting events.

    Lincoln Approves New Haymarket Arena

This is correct. The arena was passed mainly to retain and bring back some of the high school championships, to to attract better events in the future. Sure, Nebraska basketball will be a main tenant, but it wasn't all about Nebraska basketball. I'm pretty sure Nebraska Volleyball will continue...

Big XII FB Title Games - Any Rematches?

1999. Crouch was a sophomore. It was a great game in Austin during the regular season. Nebraska then beat them in the Champ Game. The loss in Austin was Nebraskas only loss that season. They went on to beat Tennessee in the Fiesta Bowl. Probably the best team Nebraska had post-Osborne.

    Exactly right.

Big 10 expansion - it has begun.

The only people that think there is a rivalry with Nebraska is the Iowa State fans. I guarantee you Nebraska doesn't think it's a rivalry.

Big 10 expansion - it has begun.

Hold on partner. As a Nebraska fan I have never said on here that Nebraska is currently part of the college football elite. Right now I think they are on a similar level as Iowa. But, over the past 25 years it's not even close. Nebraska has been far superior to Iowa football from 1985-2010.
