***Cliff Keen Las Vegas Invitational Dec 1-2***

He was in on the match tying shot and Rahmani countered for the takedown. Then got a nearside head and arm for some NF.

Rahmani is a funky dude. ACC champ last year. Has some different techniques that make him hard to wrestle. BCClone -- no big wins yet. Pestano had a big match against #8 from CMU, but came up a bit short.

Degen rolling in the second period. Up 10-2 with RT. If there is any way to have Gomez, Parker, Simmons, Storr, Degen and Carr in the lineup at the same time (which I know there isn't realistically), that would be a great foundation for the program.

Storr wins his first one. Nothing big, 6-2. Good positioning and tough to score on.

Parker just grinded Jimenez down. Nothing fancy about it but great to see.

Getting ridden out the entire second period lost the match for Pestano. Looked tough on his feet and conditioning looked solid. Liked what he brought in periods 1 and 3, not so much period 2.

    Expectations from me are: 125 -- win a match. 133 -- top 8 141 -- top 8 149 -- top 8 157 -- top 16 165 -- win a match 174 -- win a match 184 -- top 16 197 -- top 16 285 -- top 16 Like Judoka mentioned, it really depends on the draw for the non-ranked weights. Draw a top seed then fall into...

Colbray definitely came to Ames with a lot of talent. Being a 5x Fargo champ is no joke. I am not going to write a guy off in his second season (first full year) who has shown some great talent and results (freestyle results do carry some weight). But I also don't get to see his day to day...

***Rider Dual in Stephens 2:00PM on Sunday***

Future = bright The present = some young talent who will show great promise and hopefully steady progress. The cupboard isn't bare, but the here and now isn't built for great success. The talent the team has isn't fully developed yet, but have the possibility of being a great team by the time...

***Rider Dual in Stephens 2:00PM on Sunday***

I think the talent in the room isn't nearly as high as some are making it out to be. 125, 165 and 174 are guys who are decent practice partners, but are 3 holes in the lineup. That isn't taking away anything from their work ethic, personality, or traits as a person, but those 3 weights massively...

Overall, good first dual. I think you saw the style you want from the majority of guys, especially the expected top performers. A few guys missing makes it harder to judge as a whole. But, also have to keep in mind what the coaches are working with here. This lineup isn't going to win a ton of...

    Lineup preview by IaWrestle

What are some legit expectations for this season? 3-4 qualifiers, 1x AA? Optimism around the program has gone way up, and hopefully that carries over to some some decent results in year 1.
