I know his uncle on a personal level. Played college ball with him. He has no reason to lie to me.

He didn't have a choice. CPR and Mess called him 2 days before he was to report to classes in January and told him they were going with SR and GR so he should consider moving on if he wanted to play. I don't think he had a choice. Plus, they gave him a 2 days to decide on a new school so he...

Only 1-7 team with no pressure on the head coach

And some are asking for the WR coach to be the OC? He can't even coach up his guys enough to get open, run good routes, block effectively on screens, or......catch the ball.

Just Some Thoughts and a Question on the Football Season.

I agree with you that most high schoolers don't relate to Dickerson or Sanders. Most recruits would relate more to Adrian Peterson, Brandon Jacobs, maybe Emmitt Smith, Faulk, and Bush. I disagree that the RB coach has full control of the rotations. Most rotations are based in schemes and the...

Take this for what it's worth but...

At this point, I can't answer that question. But, for competing in this league, which is were we compete, we need more talent from Texas. Even Rhoads has said guys play better when the compete against known players and coaches that may or may not have recruited them. Same holds true in IA and FL.

In contrast to us: OU has 43 from Texas, 29 from OK, 4 from FL. OSU has 74 from Texas, 36 from OK, 1 from Fl. Comparable to us: KU has 29 from Texas and 23 from KS, 0 from FL. KSU has 27 from Texas, 67 from KS, 2 from FL . Teams have to figure out a way to recruit Texas.

I'm sure that I'll heat for this but you are so true. Every team has a plethora of kids from Texas except us. Even KU has more and they've done nothing in years. Last time I checked, Stanford had more than us. Iowa State has always recruited Texas well but that has gone by the wayside recently...

No one can do any better with this mess and I never said JB would. Was simply responding to the post about Herman. There was definitely a disagreement about the direction of the offense.

    Talent

You haven't heard CPR called anything but untouchable the last few years. But a businessman knows the traits of a micromanager. When you hire people that you can keep your thumb on and run off people you can't, that's a micromanager.

Herman wanted JB, Rhoads wanted SJ. Herman saw the micromanaging and got a great opportunity to leave, we got a Mess.

Will We Be Better Next Year?

We're at this low because he has failed to develop his recruits, not because the talent wasn't there. We are recruiting better due to the success that some of those "failed recruits" helped bring to the program. Two years ago these guys were making huge plays for this team (Gary, West, Johnson...

How does a guy throw for 2200 yards but need so much development that he has to play defense? Can he not complete bubble screens? What does that say about the teams he played against?

    Joel Lanning

Rogers was 2200 pass (18 TD) and 1200 run (23 TD) in his senior year. We have an offense that's run based. Why is this kid playing DB? We couldn't develop him as a QB. Hodge was Three-star recruit according to rivals.com and ESPN … completed 171-of-259 passes for 2,934 yards and 31...
