Neither were we, 2011 was as average to below average as we've been in a long time, except for 2012 of course. And while I won't say the game was ever in doubt, it was a little bit closer than the score indicates due to a fantastic final performance by Norm Parker. -

Hesse played as well as a redshirt freshman could last year after Ott got hurt, and Matt Nelson's length and pure size alone help him as a pass rusher. I would say the same thing. Not knocking on Lanning, but from what I've seen he's better as a runner, and not as much as a dropback QB. It helps having Lazard to throw to, but he's just one man. -

Ott was hurt early in last year's game, and his replacement Parker Hesse played decently well the rest of the game and should have a starting role this season. I'd agree that we'll be a little weak at WR, but honestly it's been that way since 2011 for us. -
