    Pre-Memorial Day Hoiberg NBA Update

Sort of like Budenholzer learning nothing from Popovich to help him be successful.

    Pre-Memorial Day Hoiberg NBA Update

Totally agree. I am sure he did not anticipate the Thibs situation taking this long and these new rumors are simply a result of that. I think the rumor of him staying at ISU for another year is probably hurting his rep among the fanbase though.

Which was probably his plan, but it hasn't panned out as anticipated. I'm sure the entire process is discouraging him. Not a good time for him to be stressed.

    Pre-Memorial Day Hoiberg NBA Update

How? What is he supposed to say? I almost guarantee Bulls management told him Thibs would be gone quick... This is turning out to not be the case so he is in limbo. Now he has to make it seem like he's just now considering all of this options because he's ultimately decided, but can't really...

    Pre-Memorial Day Hoiberg NBA Update

I was thinking this too, but what is he supposed to do? Comment on rumors? He's not denying he's interested, it's not his fault that it's dragging out. I guarantee he did not anticipate it dragging out this long and I am sure he feels terrible for it.

    Pre-Memorial Day Hoiberg NBA Update

Yes, unfortunately this has probably impacted a lot of people's opinion of Fred even though its probably 99% fault of the Bulls management that has drug this out far longer than Hoiberg anticipated.

    Pre-Memorial Day Hoiberg NBA Update

This! I don't see the big push for JH... I think "Hoiball" is actually more important for ISU to remain relevant than Hoiberg or any coach. If ISU can prove to keep that style of play going without Hoiberg then we are going to be in fair shape going forward. I would think recruits look at...

Official 2015 Hoiberg NBA Speculation Thread

Okay, but most people know that's not typical here. Why would someone, who has proven themselves a winner, risk coming to ISU and failing in Hoiberg's foot steps.

Agreed. This is not a situation where you're bringing in a coach to change things up though. Should be trying to maintain and who is best suited for that?

He's also not very old and has proven he has a natural eye for talent. As far as shaping that talent, who knows how much he learned from Fred?

Exactly! So wouldn't you see if you can keep the current momentum going with a coach that was involved and knows the system? If it doesn't work out THEN you hit the reset button and hire a new coach to rebuild.

Shouldn't JP listen to the man that turned the program into a championship contender in five years.

More experience would be ideal, but find it hard to believe that if fred had any doubt in tj's abilities that he would've spent a little more time with his decision for an assistant. At this point, the tj doubters, are all really doubting fred as well.

Would think fred had that in mind when he made the decision to re-hire him vs looking elsewhere.

Official 2015 Hoiberg NBA Speculation Thread

Let's say fred sticks it out awhile longer and makes it known he is grooming TJ to take over at some point. Do you all still want a new coach when FH leaves?

Official 2015 Hoiberg NBA Speculation Thread

So basically you want to rebuild with a new coach, hoping they are FH 2.0. Or you could keep TJ, who knows the system and might be able to maintain the brand that ISU has become known for. Ultimately I think Fred feels comfortable leaving because he has established a brand, that sells...

I guess just pout and be awful until we bring in another nba calibre coach.

No kidding. It's insane that the people , who believe so much in Hoiberg, fail to see that he has helped mold and more than likely recommended TJ to eventually take the reigns.
