    Since he's from Keepin'-it-Weird-Portland, Oregon maybe he's not used to the strict Iowa rules. Marijuana has been legal in Oregon since 1975. (oops, it's actually "de-criminalized"). Maybe he thought Iowa had the same rules with drinking and driving.

    You joke, but I worked with a guy who kept an empty bottle of scotch in his truck just for that reason. A few years after he told me this, he was involved in a single-vehicle accident. The cops arrived and saw him "drinking" from the bottle of scotch. They tried to get him for drunk driving...

    Being an "adult" is itself an arbitrary classification. It's 21 for drinking, 18 for voting, sometimes 17 if you commited a heinous crime, less than age 26 if you want to be on your parent's health insurance....

    This argument has popularity in many forums. But if analyzed even slightly, it becomes foolish. I could argue equally as well that it is YOU who is intolerant. The wrestler has HIS beliefs and stuck by them. Why are you intolerant of that?!

    Because a society needs morality to function correctly. It's not illegal to: 1. Budge to the front of the line, 2. Go through the express line with 25 items, 3. Take the last beer from a buddy's fridge. But, that doesn't mean you won't be a jerk for doing them.

    Don't think it's just limited to high schools. You can graduate ISU (back in the day, at least) as an engineer without ever taking a finance class. That always struck me as odd. Maybe some people went to college to make the world a better place, but I went to get a job that paid me well...
