Fremont Bergan (Eikmeier) wins state going 27-0 (long)

A truly dominating performance. Congrats to Eik on winning a state championship. Here's hoping there's also a Big XII championship is in his future at Iowa State.

    Buckley in Regional Final tonight

That's a great honor. His numbers are very impressive, especially given the high level of competition. Looks like a great pickup.

    Thanks for the link.

ISU - KU postgame. We won the 2nd half!

Seems like it was higher at the end of the non-conference season (around 40th). Looks like it dipped quite a bit--maybe those Valley teams ended up with much lower SOS, which dragged ours down. Just speculating.

    11th Place

Here are the positives, as I see them, with McDermott and the staff: 1. Off-the-court issues are few and when they happen are handled firmly and decisively. 2. Team always gives a great effort. 3. Great team chemistry. 4. Players represent ISU well on and off the court. 5...

    Question for Jon Miller

I wasn't able to watch or listen to the game. A couple of questions about WJ. Was he playing the guard or forward spot? What was the defensive liability? Was he getting beat to the basket by a shorter, quicker guard? Just curious.

Translating HS stats to College stats

LOL. And a good observation. When I saw Brooks play in high school, he was such a ball hog.

    Let's all relax

Good Lord. It sure will be nice when we're winning and getting to the tourney again.

    ISU-Husker Post Game Thread

I couldn't agree more. I've seen nothing to indicate that he should be playing the SG spot. I'm hoping he moves to the 3 or 4 next year. This "experiment" hasn't worked.

For the first time in a long time

As a point of reference, Tom Davis took over the Drake program in 2003. In his four-year tenure, the team steadily improved but never made post-season play. It wasn't until year five (this year) of the Davis and Son tag team that they showed dramatic improvement and will make post-season play...

    Bergan (Eikmeier) beats OCA 92-39

It would be a heck of a game of H-O-R-S-E between those two.

    Bergan (Eikmeier) beats OCA 92-39

I read that he used to run track (the 800M I think), and he was pretty good, but he gave that up to focus on basketball (weight training, drills, stuff that the staff said he should focus on) to prepare for playing at ISU.

ISU and Its Place in Big 12 Basketball the Next 2-4 Seasons

If we have to wait as long as it took for Davis and Son to get the results they're getting at Drake, I'm willing to wait that long. How long has that been? 4 years? And the improvement of Drake from last year to this year has been dramatic.

What...no report on Eikmeier after the 2/9 "gamewatch"?

Really, I think this is about feeding your (rather enormous) ego.

    simplified offense

During the half-time interview with assistant coach Jeff Rutter, he said (I'm paraphrasing here) that ISU simplified the offense in order to take advantage of the opportunities that come against the Mizzu's press. Just thought that was a smart, interesting move, considering all the discussion...
