All this, and Overton Square on Madison is FULL of restaurants and great nightlife. I second Pearls Oyster House, FOR SURE. BBQ Nachos are my favorite things on Central's menu, but my family loves their wings. If you order them, keep in mind, they're whole wings, not drummettes. Edited to...

    Tiger Lane Tailgating Spots

That may be a bowl game. Tiger fans usually do use the grass. The large grassy area in the middle sometimes has bounce houses, and games for kids. It's also a great place to socialize or start a game of tag football. The picture I tried to upload is too large. Follow this link for some pics...

Just confirmed with Gibson's, they will do Cardinal and Gold, but you have to order in advance, and 2 dozen minimum. https://www.facebook.com/gibsonsdonuts/ A word of advice, in addition to your custom donuts, pick up some maple bacon!! And, Gibson's is a nut free facility, in case anyone has...

Memphis is known for BBQ, we even have our own style, and it's the BEST!! In Southaven, I would eat at Interstate BBQ. http://www.interstatebarbecue.com/contactus - Hit the Southaven location, obviously. In Memphis, head over to Central BBQ. https://cbqmemphis.com/ For fish, I recommend...

I know this may be a touchy subject, but my kids also wanted me to tell you about the best yeast donuts in the country (seriously, according to Alton Brown). There's a place in East Memphis, called Gibson's Donuts. It's a single location, and will be slammed on game day, but you can make an...

Liberty Bowl is Memphis' Coach final game.

I can't find the number of flags in the SMU games, but we picked up 132 yards worth of penalties, in that game. It was horrible. I was yelling at the refs for calling things on SMU but the end of that game, because I was so tired of seeing them.

Guess who we get for TV Announcers for the Liberty Bowl?

If it makes y'all feel any better, as a former Ole Miss coach, he is no fan of Memphis, either.

Local Memphian here. I'm so excited for this game, and New Years weekend. It sounds like our city will be full of people having a good time, no matter how the game goes. If you're staying downtown, here are my recommendations for food: Central BBQ - Newer Location near the National Civil...

    Tiger Lane Tailgating Spots

It is sold out, but the stadium is surrounded by parking, and there is plenty of room to tailgate. The lots right around the stadium need passes, though, so keep trying to get something. They will go fast.

    Tiger Lane Tailgating Spots

Everyone I have talked to is excited to play in Memphis. We are season ticket holders, and have many friends who are, and I haven't talked to anyone who is disappointed. Our allotment was sold out yesterday, after the announcement was made that Coach Norvell was staying, so I am hoping that...
