    The Big 12’s Future

It could have a big effect on NIL as well as on advertising.

If the B12 remains intact and moves forward

It would, in fact, be better on the field than the PAC and the ACC.

If the B12 remains intact and moves forward

Some conferences don't even have GOR's, so nobody is going to hold out from a HUGE jump up in pay to a P5 conference because they don't have a GOR. Sure, they'd prefer it, but they don't miss out on the opportunity...no way. That chance to move up a notch may NEVER come again for these...

If the B12 remains intact and moves forward

Wow. Its always one extreme or the other. If we add...say Cinci and BYU...we remain as we were with a little less money. If the playoff expands, our champion gets an autobid just like the ACC/PAC/SEC/B1G. I'm not happy if that's how it ends up, but you're quite wrong to suggest we would then...

If the B12 remains intact and moves forward

It doesn't mean that at all. As for the GOR, that gets negotiated with the NEXT television contract...so that's not coming until we lock in a new TV deal. That is separate from adding teams now...we don't do GOR's just because a team or two joined the conference.

If the B12 remains intact and moves forward

Please.....quit with the Boise State and Colorado State garbage. Neither are ever coming to the Big 12. Likewise for the service academies. BYU, Cinci, UCF, Memphis and Houston...maybe USF....and that's all that are going to be considered for a 10 or 12 team Big 12.

If the B12 remains intact and moves forward

It shouldn't. Any move to the B1G would likely await 2025...and absolutely has to wait until after we've settled with OU/UT. In the meantime, unless you're a peawit, you plan for the worst case scenario of staying put...and that means adding at least a couple of teams in the short term. So...

IOWA STATE TO BIG TEN?!? Dave Wannstedt thinks so.

I'm going to amend my earlier declaration that the first two in are Cinci and BYU. I should have said BYU is a lock...and the #2 slot is between Cinci and UCF. Out over my skis a bit on that first declaration.

If the B12 remains intact and moves forward

Hellllll no. Split up a smaller pie into 20 pieces. Total disaster financially.

IOWA STATE TO BIG TEN?!? Dave Wannstedt thinks so.

And the B1G will NEVER have interest in Cincinnati either...OSU would never let them in.

If the B12 remains intact and moves forward

Its going to be BYU and Cincinnati...locked in, certain. For the record, none of this means expansion in 2022-2023 is any more or less likely...but until the game of "settlement" chicken is complete with OU/UT everything must move forward in a "normal" manner. .IF the expansion committee...

Pac-12 to decide whether to expand within a couple weeks

The most well thought out and on point post in this entire thread. Well said, sir!

Pac-12 to decide whether to expand within a couple weeks

Wrong twice with so few words. Most impressive. Huh.

How much could the remaining Big 12 schools theoretically get from a settlement with UT/OU/ESPN?

The idea is to walk and chew gum. It seems the "Alliance" and the R8 are in agreement that they hold off on expansion until the "settlement" is reached. So no announcements of expansion from the conferences and no claims of leaving from the R8 schools until OUUT pay up. After that, if nothing...

IOWA STATE TO BIG TEN?!? Dave Wannstedt thinks so.

If you think any Cyclone fan right now feels "certain" of anything...you're a peawit. We're all reading tea leaves and hoping for a positive outcome. We're also fully aware of the potential for lesser outcomes...like an expanded Big 12. Perhaps you should take your "B1GAnon" stuff and shove it.

What it all means...where it all ends...realignment.

    You are too kind, sir!

Jon Miller has a new write up on realignment...surprising and worth the read.

True…we have the entire MSM built around just that premise.

We? Really? Go back to the Iowa rivals site...lame attempt here.

Jon Miller has a new write up on realignment...surprising and worth the read.

Well...rumors are rumors, of course. Could be total BS. But when you start accumulating Wannstedts and Miller's who DO have connections and are "hearing" common themes...at some point it starts to gather at least SOME credibility.
