    Some conferences don't even have GOR's, so nobody is going to hold out from a HUGE jump up in pay to a P5 conference because they don't have a GOR. Sure, they'd prefer it, but they don't miss out on the opportunity...no way. That chance to move up a notch may NEVER come again for these...

    It doesn't mean that at all. As for the GOR, that gets negotiated with the NEXT television contract...so that's not coming until we lock in a new TV deal. That is separate from adding teams now...we don't do GOR's just because a team or two joined the conference.

    Please.....quit with the Boise State and Colorado State garbage. Neither are ever coming to the Big 12. Likewise for the service academies. BYU, Cinci, UCF, Memphis and Houston...maybe USF....and that's all that are going to be considered for a 10 or 12 team Big 12.

    It shouldn't. Any move to the B1G would likely await 2025...and absolutely has to wait until after we've settled with OU/UT. In the meantime, unless you're a peawit, you plan for the worst case scenario of staying put...and that means adding at least a couple of teams in the short term. So...

    I'm going to amend my earlier declaration that the first two in are Cinci and BYU. I should have said BYU is a lock...and the #2 slot is between Cinci and UCF. Out over my skis a bit on that first declaration.

    Its going to be BYU and Cincinnati...locked in, certain. For the record, none of this means expansion in 2022-2023 is any more or less likely...but until the game of "settlement" chicken is complete with OU/UT everything must move forward in a "normal" manner. .IF the expansion committee...

    The idea is to walk and chew gum. It seems the "Alliance" and the R8 are in agreement that they hold off on expansion until the "settlement" is reached.     Well...rumors are rumors, of course. Could be total BS. But when you start accumulating Wannstedts and Miller's who DO have connections and are "hearing" common themes...at some point it starts to gather at least SOME credibility.
