I saw this posted somewhere on social media this week, had some fun asking the question to others, thought I'd throw it out here. When I first saw the question, a particular movie came to mind, but then I wanted to research other well-known movies from that year to see if any other choices would change my mind. None did and I stick by my choice of.....

Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory

What would be yours?

Not sure they had movies the year I was born:jimlad:

It seems there were a lot of great movies released the year I was born but I've only seen two so I'll go with the top rated:
Easy Rider

Pippi Longstocking was the second :)

Had to Google movies from 1982, didn't realize how many big movies came out that year.

48 Hrs (also likes all the Beverly Hills Cop, Lethal Weapon, etc movies a bit later)
First Blood (Stallone action flick)

Either Ghostbusters or The Terminator (1984).

I will say my favorite movie that has to do with my birthday is Back to the Future. They go back in time October 26th, 1085 - my first birthday.

Lot's of classics from my year. Hitchcock's Strangers on a Train, Brando in Streetcar Named Desire, Disney's Alice in Wonderland and The Day the Earth Stood Still ("Klaatu barada nikto!"). However my personal favs are Alastair Sim in thee bestest ever A Christmas Carol and Bogart in The African Queen.

Sleepers that I appreciated and remember seeing: Jimmy Stewart in No Highway in the Sky, Kirk Douglas in the depressing Ace in a Hole, and one I haven't seen since I was a kid, Burt Lancaster in Jim Thorpe - All-American. Not remembering if the Thorpe movie was any good but it introduced me to who Thorpe was.

The tinfoil-hat person in me thinks this is just a clever way to discover ages/birth years.
Ever since I started this place I've wanted to have a completely anonymous survey of people's location, age, tie to ISU, etc but knew that nobody would believe that it was anonymous and not some sinister ad or marketing related thing. I have just truly wondered, no motive other than that. Google Analytics only helped understanding population distribution of visitors.

If I was born in the same year as A Christmas Carol, I would have insisted they put me back in the oven until the next year. I HATE that movie with every bone in my body. It's 3rd on my list of vitriol hatreds in life (Hawks are number 1).

Well, now we are all going to want to know #2. ;)

Also wondering if we have had a visceral hared thread on CF. Would guess we have, maybe we've had an Angie Friday thingie like that.
