Well apparently my cousin does. :mccaffery:

The ceremony will go over the start and the reception will probably start during half time.

Do I put the game on my phone during the ceremony?

Bride and Groom are both Hawk fans, how do I make sure they never live this down the rest of their lives?

What's a good "excuse" I could use to get out of this until the game is over? :jimlad:... unless?

They usually don't have a choice. Depending on the location there is such competition and scarcity for wedding venues that couples have very few dates to choose from. My sister was in that predicament when she got married. She said there were other dates they could get the church, other dates they could reserved the venue, but almost none where they could get both.

I've skipped a lot of weddings because of football. So I'm probably not the best to ask. In fact I didn't go to my Godson's wedding out of state last weekend. I feel bad, but not that bad. ;) I have a streak of not missing a home game since 1997 and not sure what will break the streak. Once it's broken I may become a fair-weather fan. :)

At the minimum, I feel like any football weekend can be dicey. I've been to many of them where the dance floor is pretty empty because people are huddled around the closest TV.

I obviously don't know how close your family is, but with this not being immediate family I would plan to make the reception when I could after the game, not the wedding. Not like your missing the wedding because going to a movie or something you could do any time. Immediate family you go but have the game on. I would turn the game off only during the ceremony.

Usually using "not feeling well," "got tied up with work," or "kids are misbehaving" or "kids' sitter canceled" are usually easy believable lies. If you want to save face, just ensure you commit to them and don't have friends tag you on social media during the game.

Otherwise skip the ceremony and show up for the reception. There's nothing wrong with streaming the game to your phone as long as it's not during the speeches.

"Car problems" so you don't arrive until the game is over. Depending where their reception is there could be a chance the game could be on near by. Went to a cousins wedding the yr Baylor put 70+ on us didn't ck the score near as often in the 2nd half. They had the ballroom and the bar was a short walk down the hallway.

Sister and BIL wed on this “unofficial state of Iowa holiday”! An usher kept updating some individuals in church throughout the ceremony!

That's why you can go to an attorney's office and do it there. Can use the same one for the divorce later.

I strongly dislike fall weddings, let alone during Cy-Hawk.

I have 4 saturday weddings this fall. I will be attending and missing two home games because of it. Ugh.

And after ISU wins, request the DJ play the ISU fight song immediately followed by "Juicy Wiggle."
