Roster Heights and Weights Updated - Summer ‘23

I remember when Mac’s OL all looked like they had beach balls stuffed under their uniforms. So, if some of these listed weights for OL are accurate (and good weight), that a great thing.

Jarrod Hufford 6’5” 325
Tyler Miller 6’9” 335
Darrell Simmons 6’3” 320
James Neal 6’6” 320
Brady Peterson 6’5” 310
Anthony Smith 6’3” 305
Jim Bonifas 6’5” 310
Dodge Sauser 6’5” 305
Funto Akinshilo 6’5” 335
Deylin Hasert 6’4” 315
Tyler Maro 6’7” 300 (I’ve been waiting for him to get his weight up)
Hayden Pauls 6’5” 320 (also reported very light)

I mean…we’re a developmental program, and all of these guys are finally developed. What more can you ask?

Oh…of the two true freshmen, Brendan Black is unsurprisingly listed at 6’4” 315…but Trevor Buhr is at 6’4” 300…forty pounds over his listed senior playing weight.

(Not to leave out the other two seniors, but there was nothing surprising to me about Jake Remsburg and Grant Treiber both being listed at a solid 6’6” 325)

Saw Tyler Maro at the CF Road Show in LeClaire. Looked like a prototypical O-lineman.

Well, appearance wise, we should at least look like a competitive Big 12 team. We've got a lot of beef to go toe to toe with anyone.

O-line looked completely out of sync for large portions last year. Being consistently average in that area this season will be a tremendous improvement. Hoping Clanton can get things to slow down for them and they can just play.
They looked incredibly confused out there last year. Simplifying things but doing everything at 110% seems to be Clanton's M.O. What'd he say in that video a few months back?

"The thing you have to remember is this.. It doesn't have to be perfect, but it has to be violent." That quote right there is what stuck out to everyone on here.

Happens at the 45 second mark
