FAMU Football in Trouble

Sounds like they’ll start up operations again shortly, after they investigate it.

Read thru that sounds like the coach is going to give the "don't be idiots" speech. Guessing some extra laps or steps for some then back to getting ready for the season.

Lol, why were all football operations stopped? I was expecting something even worse than Northwestern’s recent issues.

Posting a YouTube video? Don’t you just reprimand a few players and move on with your day?

Wonder if it was fear of another Miami rap song incident?

Not sure why they would shut down football operations for something like this. They made a little mistake and made bad judgement but shut down football for it? That seems extreme to me.

The article refers to some offensive language. I have not seen/heard the song, but my guess is it has more to do with that. The school is hiding behind the licensing thing to avoid stirring up a racial/political hornet's nest.

The licensing/branding defense brings up an interesting thought I had not considered on how that would overlay with NIL. Is there specific restrictions in NIL deals that don't allow players to use university licensed equipment? Probably...
