Oh they're definitely classics. I know about all of them but haven't necessarily seen them all. Just saying that I am guessing the people that would have these as their top comedies skew older than me. Knowing my whole friend group there's no way Anchorman, Step Brothers, Superbad and Bridesmaids wouldn't still be in.

I would take Step Brothers out but the rest are definitely really great comedies.

Yeah it's all really good stuff and fun to think about why one would be chosen over others. Some of these are better overall movies, but not as funny, and some are smarter versions of funny vs. goofy.

I gave up when The Big Lebowski lost and The Hangover advanced past the first round.

Apparently characters yelling about stuff that's not that funny for two hours is the way to go.
