How long have you been posting about ISU sports on the internet?

You have me beat by several years. I recall posting on an ISU board in 1993-1994. It was before many of us transitioned to the Rivals site that became CycloneReport by a year or so. But gosh if I can remember the name of the earlier site. Fan??something?

Became friends with a poster named Pauly85 and remember the initial owner/publisher of Rival’s CycloneReport hosting a fun tailgate before the Wyoming game in 1997.

Same here. There was an ISU board that was threaded like Mizzou's Tigerboard back in the day, 1992 or 93, but it was slow and not well trafficked. I went to Rivals shortly after it started and that was a fun free board I used for many years. I used both that one and this one when it started, but ultimately this one had the best content and most traffic and interaction.

Early 2000s on the ESPN boards.

Wonder what happened to PantherHawk. That dude could not handle ISU beating Iowa in anything.

Just wondering if I have been posting the longest. I started on Usenet back in 1988 -- bang paths anyone?
You could have just said “I’m frickin old” with fewer words:)

Just kidding! Our community was one of the first in the state to have widespread internet so probably around 1992. Would have put me at around 10. Seems like it was much earlier though so not sure.

I started on Cyclone Report back when it was a free board. I was in college at the time and killing time between classes. 2004 probably.

I got blacklisted from CR in 2005 after the KU football debacle and I think I threatened to find Mac's house and poop on his doorstep. I can't remember if I came up with a new account or didn't have anything until CF came along a few months later.

I'm sure I was talking some ISU on AOL chatrooms in the mid 90s. Then I feel like I got AIM in the late 90s.

This first board I remember posting on was AmesTrib, in the mid 90s. It was the frickin' wild west. You didn't need a login, could make up any username you wanted for every post. Someone stole my username and started fighting with everyone on the board. It was insane.

Strange thing is, I am not that old. :) I turn 51 next week. I was very young back in the usenet days.

947 years

But honestly, my first experience with a Iowa State message board was this - One day in the summer before my Sr. year I went into Subway on Welch. Ordered my sandwich, the worker was looking at me funny, asked if I was Curt Schroeder. I was like yeah how do you know who I am. He said on the football message board there was talk that I had a good showing in spring practices. I was like ok, and it kind of weirded me out.

A few years later while working at a boring job I found the site Deace ran and now here I am.

Same, although a few years earlier. I remember running into the Eustachy pictures on that board a few months before the story broke. Pretty sure it was the guy who owned the apartment. He told the whole story and posted the pictures and everyone accused him of faking the pictures. Whoops!

I was born in the early 90s and call me ignorant but I had no idea there were isu message boards in the 90s let alone the friggin 80s

Before posting on any ISU-specific boards, I started posting on Hoopscoop.net, a Big 12 WBB board, back in summer of 1998.

That board was great until Baylor dominance and conference realignment killed it off. Baylor dominance drove off the Baylor fans (because they didn't care for the fact everyone suddenly hated Baylor) and realignment drove off the Nebraska and Colorado fans.
