Williams & Blum Pod: Taking listener questions from Twitter

Enjoy!

Just bookmark my scholarship chart in Google Sheets here...

I promise I keep it much more up to date than the one on the AD website.

My favorite part of the pod was when Blum said Colorado was a quick “road-trip” then immediately said there’s a direct flight

This whole gambling fiasco has me worried. Their discussion had a very ominous tone.

Enjoy!

Chris and Brent,

The realignment deadline IMO is 6/30. MWC exit fees double/triple after that date with less than 12 months notice. And the TV networks and conferences need to lock down their contracts and inventory being supported for the 2024 season in a timely fashion and 6/30 would be a logical date to align with the MWC exit fee issue.

MWC exist fees, Mountain West? Sorry I haven’t listened to the pod and am confused.

If the PAC or B12 want to expand with San Diego St effective with the 2024 FB season, their exit fees from the MWC double/triple after 6/30.

Also, the PAC and their network partners needs to know what schools are going to be in their conference for the 2024 season ASAP and 6/30 is a logical date. Same deal with the B12 & ESPN/Fox.

I will be shocked if this goes beyond 6/30. CW and Brent suggested on the pod that existing realignment "unknowns" extend beyond that date.

I stopped listening to that one, he was not good.

It is my experience "from the left" and "from the right" (or, in this case, State and "U of" debates) podcasts structured as informal conversations are usually a disaster. Debates are fine and great, but they need more structure (e.g., a moderator who tries to be neutral, equal time, a structured rebuttal system, some way to keep them from talking over each other the whole time) to really make them organized and interesting.

It went so far off the rails I couldn’t stand it. No real sense of flow.
