I can personally attest to the wealth of some of the TCU alumn. One my close family friends has TCU in her will, when she passes they are getting millions from her estate.

Maaaaan, I really do not think I agree on the basketball/football thing.

Main deal for me is the postseason stuff. Sure, we might not be winning the Big 12 title in that conference but we can go on a run in the tournament or go win it in KC again and leave on solid vibes.

With football we can have 7-5 yet again and go to a pointless bowl game. Does anyone leave that season feeling all that great though? Right now bowls are already pretty pointless, once the playoff goes to 12 its going to make them even more pointless, and then the expansion to 16 makes them feel like the CBI.

When we're at a 16 team playoff does anyone really care if you're playing in a random bowl where half the players on each side don't even show up?

I don't disagree with any of this.

BUT. If Campbell can win 7-8 games regularly in that league per year, it isn't crazy that he can get into playoff contention every now and then with the new setup. Point is, things are evening out for football's future. Basketball, as long as this league is set up the way it is, will just keep getting tougher. Good thing is that I believe Otz is the perfect guy for the job.

I feel like in terms of football program rankings I'd say:

1. TCU
2. OSU
3. Baylor
4. KSU
5. ISU
6. BYU
7. Tech
8. UCF
9. Cincy
10. Houston
11. WVU
12. KU
Man this stuff is so hard to judge. I guess I'll go with

Top Dogs: Baylor, TCU, Oklahoma State(After Gundy either leaves or gets with the times)

Upper middle: UCF, ISU, KSU, Tech, BYU

Lower middle: Cincy(Satterfield sucks), Kansas

Bottom: Houston, West Virginia(hard to tell until they fire their coach)

You can sell me on a number of different spots here for everyone though

Where do you set the over/under for how many years Campbell and Otz are at ISU?

You also have to factor in the AD. That's a huge part of the coaching tenure equation. How long until JP retires?

That's a really good point. It seems like both guys are here, in large part, because they like working for Jamie. If he leaves and someone hires a dud, it might change the calculus on both.

JP isn't scheduled to retire until Campbell has won 3 national titles and is ready to step into the role. Thats how the story goes. Re-read the script.

Only 3?

Do you even work hard at your job?!

(This is in reference to someone in bball season equating me being content with ISU making the tourney to not doing enough in real life).

I think Otz will be here for 10-plus years.

Feels like Campbell wants to see the other side of the mountain. He's just turned down so many jobs. I'd put his O/U at 5. TJ's at 7.5.

Here’s a ‘WAY out on a limb’ prediction from me…. the next school CMC will be coaching at after ISU will be a lesser program than ISU…. it will be considered a step down in level.

Yes because Iowa State will have become like Clemson. I see what you did there.
