NFL HOF RB Jim Brown passed away

Read the article on ESPN. Didn’t realize that he had that many run ins with the law.

Still remember him dropping those grenades while running in the Dirty Dozen.

Serial domestic abuser plus some very questionable relationships with teen girls when he was in his 30s.

It'll be interesting to see how that gets covered this week...

Watching old NFL highlights is always a bit jarring.

Are they slowing it down for effect? Or are players nowadays just that much bigger and faster?

That being said, watching that highlight reel... there's a level of power, balance, speed, and just outright confidence in his running that defenders couldn't have hoped to match.

Some of his acting work in the 1990s when I was growing up was memorable, too --

RIP to a legend who has as much claim as anybody to have been the greatest player of all.

My dad who was around his age said he was the greatest football player he had ever seen. IIRC during warmups Jim Brown would just do pushups at midfield while staring at the opposing team.
