Looks like could have a bit of everything weather wise. Heard them say on Golf Channel that they are worried about a possible frost delay on Thursday morning. Also the rough looks very dense. Driving accuracy going to be very important

Spieth is my go to initial rooting interest at the majors but with him hurt this probably won't go well for him.

I wouldn't think chopping shots out of thick rough would be fun with a wrist injury.
I'll preface this by saying I'm not a professional golfer and I haven't played in rough like this but I broke my finger one fall ending my golf season. Came back that next spring, playing when it was cold. Tried hitting a ball out of the wet rough in the cold, I dropped the club once I made contact because the wet rough sent a shockwave back up the club and into my hand. I can't imagine what its like trying to play through a wrist injury in this rough.

I agree. I have been playing with a pretty bad case of tennis elbow this year. Surprisingly, it hasn't affected my scoring, but it hurts like hell after I swing, particularly when I don't catch the sweet spot or catch some turf or something. Had one swing on a par 3 where it just forced my hand open, and I damn near hurt my other wrist trying to keep the club from swinging back into my head.

Doctor gave me a steroid shot and forbade me from golfing for two weeks, but that time is up now, so I'm going this afternoon!

Ooof. Tennis elbow when golfing doesn't sound fun at all. Good luck today!

If you can catch a replay of the video of this do it. It was pretty funny:

Eric Cole with an awesome story being near the top of the leaderboard, Bryson obviously extremely polarizing and first round leader - some good headlines after Day 1.

I get a kick out of the replies to this type of clip at majors.

Michael Block (PGA club professional) is the story so far. Pretty sure he was the one that they interviewed on the course yesterday and he seemed like an easy guy to root for.

Big winds this afternoon, so it will be tough for the yesterday's leaders to stay up there.
After giving him a shout out, he promptly when bogie-double bogie, with the double coming off a complete shank off the tee on a par 3 that went almost straight sideways into a tree (luckily it bounced back out). I feel that one.
