Testifying
I've been hearing a lot of commercials lately about this (usually on 106.3 kxno) and finally an article popped up.
Is this a big deal to you all? I think most of my AM radio listening is on FM now. Not sure if Cubs games on 1350 KRNT has an FM stream, that's most of my AM now.

Keep it civil.

I love AM radio...not for political talk though! Love dialing into the Chicago stations just to listen to what's up in Chicago! At night I used to spin the AM dial while trying to sleep...could pull in stations from the East coast...to Denver and from Texas to Canada...it was fun to think about how far away those people were as I was listening to them...

670 out of Chicago can come in sometimes in the area.

I dont mean to inject politics here, so i hope this doesnt blow up the thread... but at least some of the far-right radio folks are saying this is a clandestine attack from the left (or the deep state if you prefer) to shut them down so no one can listen.

Personally, it seems to me more like auto mfrs preferring to save a buck on the cost of adding an am radio, while at the same time increasing the # of people paying them for satellite radio...

Yes, a big deal. I don't listen to AM all the time but do a lot more when I'm traveling. KWMT (540) from Ft. Dodge is my go-to station when I hit Iowa. The only station I know of that plays traditional country music. Also, major league games are often broadcast on AM, where there is not necessarily and FM counterpart. Also, AM is where you find farm news. Don't farmers rely on that?

#2.

"Conservative" talk radio is always aggrieved about something and making things up so we'll be mad about something.

I listen less and less to the radio in the car. If I do, it's usually XM or something off my SD card. Seems a rather pointless removal given the cost is certainly small, but I probably won't be bothered by it.

Semi-related, if you like listening to other radio stations, Radio Garden has radio streams from around the world. It's interesting to hear what other countries listen to.

All I listen to is AM 600 out of Cedar Rapids, and I live in the Illinois Quad Cities. Bummed if this is true.

Holy ****, that Radio Garden thing is ******* amazing. I'll be listening to that a lot now while doing random things around the house.

edit: This is honestly the coolest thing I've seen in a long time. I wouldnt think something like this could be done.
