This is a bummer. Hate to lose an Iowa kid. I figured a guy like him plus new OL and strength coaches would have been a great match. I wonder what the story is here.

He seemed like he would be the perfect psychopath oline type. Was excited for him.
There were rumors last year of maybe swapping positions correct? Maybe he didn't want to do that?
I had a bad feeling this could happen as this highly recruited prospect never got mentioned by the coaches over the last year and a half.
One of our coaches told me a long time ago that recruiting is an inexact science and it's a good thing. Otherwise, the blue bloods would never lose and the mid-level teams would never win.
Oh well, I'm sure after the spring season Deyo saw the writing on the wall and decided he needed to move on in order to get playing time.

I always thought his body type fit the mold of DL instead of OL.

Deyo's roster page has him listed at 280lbs, and he came in at 270lbs according to 247. That just isn't big enough to be a P5 OL.
He likely did it on purpose.
270 lbs is big enough to play DE. Wasn't Deyo quick and twitchy on his high school team. I just hope he isn't leaving to go play DE at Iowa.
Iowa burned that bridge. Don’t think he’s P5 level anyway from what I’ve heard.
