OSU threw out the solidarity when they flirted with the Pac in 2011, leaving us high and dry. I remember some OSU posters trashing the Big 12 expecting the move.
I suspect if you ask ordinary fans of these schools their favorite other B12 program, it would be one of these three. What we get on fan forums is not representative, thankfully. Likewise, your "politics" board doesn't represent the views of ordinary Iowans who are generally moderately conservative.
The three are definitely mirror images of each other in so many ways. I think its fair to say there should be some natural affinity toward each other for that reason. On the other hand, I think it's equally fair to say this closeness and similarity can also breed jealousy and contempt just as quickly at times.

You do know you can opt out of the Cave (politics forum) so it will never even appear for you. That is what many sane posters do.... It isn't even representative of ordinary CF posters.
It has little interest to me. I was only using it as a comparative. I could have used engineering grads working at Ronnie Mac, I suppose.
I would probably add WV in there as well. Guess I don’t have much hate for our riot bros.
Surly frequents many boards, and used to frequent this one under a now banned name that he still uses on those other boards.
