How old do you have to be before you stop.....

Playing pick up basketball? I'm 45. Still play 3 times a week. Anyone else my age still playing?

What about other sports and or activities that you are still doing that are generally for younger people?

I went for a run, tripped, and landed hard. Still nursing some painful ribs.

Father Time is winning some rounds, but always keep swinging.

If you have fun, keep doing it. I know men’s leagues that have 50-60 year old guys in them. Slow pitch softball teams in Mesa that have 80 year old guys playing.

I need to do something like this. Its been 10+ years since I've played basketball and while I'll suck if I ever pick it up again, its fun.

I only play pickup basketball when my adult sons are home. At 62, and after multiple child births, my knees at highly questionable. I am in a tennis league again finally, we have enough peeps to do it again. Also adult league slow pitch softball but even corpses can play that.

I’m still trying to send dirt bikes 80ft through the air at 46. Next hard crash will be me last but damn it’s fun and the adrenaline is amazing. I use to play city league basketball ball but that was more beer than exercise

I'm 46 and the last time I played pick up basketball was 9 years ago....when I tore my calf muscle. I still shoot around here with my kids and coach but don't/won't go as hard as I used to. I still run >20 miles/week but that is slowing down as well. Getting old has some drawbacks

I played in my 40's but always let the young pups play the 1st game to let some of the piss and vinegar get burnt off I was too slow but let them play a game or so then I could keep up better.

I still do biking (Well hope to start again this spring.)

Aggravated my plantar fasciitis last summer playing slow pitch and tweaked my groin a couple years ago playing in a different league. I think my body is telling me to stop.

You're never too old, your body just might hate you more. I remember playing at the rec 20 years ago there were a few older guys that would be there playing. One had to be in his 60's.
I wish I had a chance to play more, about the only time I do is against my kid's teams. I can still dominate 6th graders but I tone it down little for the 4th graders.

I played until my late 30s when I watched a teammate's elbow go backwards when he landed funny. That was it for me. Stuff hurts too easy and too long now.

That kinda my mentality. Why stop when I still love it. But I heard a pop in my Achilles tendon Friday that got me thinking about it.

When I was in my 20s and 30s and played a lot of racquetball, many of us at that generation got our butts kicked by the retirees in the league/tournaments.

My 76 year old father blows by a lot of younger people biking.

If you’re physically able and experienced, you should be fine.

stopped playing about 8 or 9 years ago (mid 30's). I still exercise and shoot hoops. Just don't feel like blowing out a knee, ankle, achilles, etc. Now I play one on one against my son (high school). Sure he takes it easy on me, but it's a good work out.

I'm back to running regularly which is great. I don't think my structures could handle the complex movements of basketball though.

Back in the hizzy I'd run 5 miles and then play league bball the same day.

Otherwise staying active is crucial no matter the age so anything enjoyable should be continued.
