Hoping to have a champ and to stay in the top 10!
The three behind us could catch us easily with how many they have left. Marcus getting to the 3rd place match could be huge. David has to win too I think. A couple of those schools are gonna score some points

NCST, VT, and ASU are the ones to watch tomorrow morning. With 3.5 plus bonus in the conso semis, it's the last significant scoring opportunity other than the finals.

NCST: Scott vs Humphreys; Hidlay vs Coleman

VT: Henson vs Van Ness; Lewis vs Plott

ASU: Courtney vs Lee; McGee vs Mendez; Parco vs Murin

The matchups make me want to puke. We find ourselves hoping for wins for Coleman, and then Van Ness, Plott, Murin and Lee. It goes from good to bad to worse.

I don't follow wrestling so forgive my ignorance. Were we expected to do better than this or is this about where we thought we would end up before it started?

There was definitely meat left on the bone but If we hold on to 8th, that’s respectable.
I’d be ok. With 8th but that seems unlikely. We just don’t have many points still out there to get.

I’d say we performed slightly lower than expectations. I had 4 AAs picked and I think the expectation should have been 3. We lost 3 in the blood round so we’re really close. Not the best tournament but the arrow still pointing up.

Answer probably depends on who you ask, but I’d say we are very close to expectation, maybe a little below.

- Did not expect the Terukina injury
- Redding about what would be expected
- Swiderski wrestled above his seed, though I doubt anyone will say he hit expectation on the year. Decent tournament for him though
- Paniro was below expectation
- Kraisser slightly above expectation
- Carr is Carr
- Broderson not making NCAAs is below expectation, but even if he had, I wouldn’t have expected more than a win at most, so about what I expected
- Coleman slightly below expectations so far, but can get to expectation or a little above today; he has a HUGE match this morning
- Bastida below expectations
- Schuyler way above expectations on the year. Below expectations on the tournament, but I blame that ******** slam by NW

Would love more AAs, but this team and staff is proving it isn’t going anywhere. Recruiting is trending up. Wrestler development is trending up (just look at Sam this year), and for the most part we are very young. Competition is a lot better all around the room. Lots of positive buzz about this team. Slightly disappointed with the tournament but extremely excited about what’s ahead.

Here is my take on Spencer:

He was hurt from the sounds of it but wasn’t hurt enough that if he won he wouldn’t have wrestled. That’s fine but we all woulda heard if he had won how he did it hurt and excuses are for wusses again blah blah. To me you can’t stake claim to using that when you come out on top but when it doesn’t go your way you use it to say no more.

And this is coming from someone who was pulling for Spencer but guess for being the GOAT that means stopping at proving no matter what you toe the line. Everyone at this point is hurt everyone is mentally drained.

I’d argue Paniro probably ended up where I thought he would before the year started. He raised expectations significantly throughout the year with his results and had a bad tournament, but he will be fine and should be a title contender next year
