Quick. Don't look at brackets or your ESPN app. And don't scroll through the thread.

What states do you think have the most teams in the Women's NCAA BB tournament? How many? Including play-in games.

There are some surprises this year, both in terms of states with 3 or more teams and states with less than 3.

And note that this thread is about the Women's tournament. There is another thread for the men's tournament.

Women's teams in the NCAA BB tournament:
5 - North Carolina.
4 - Florida, California, Tennessee.
3 - Virginia, Indiana, Iowa, Louisiana, Ohio.
2 - Oklahoma, Utah, Maryland, Mississippi, Washington, Texas, New York, Connecticut.

I would have guessed incorrectly. Thanks for looking up all of these.
My contention has always been that numbers are OK, but percent(age) of eligible teams is a better stat.

75%! 100 if you don’t count Iowa.

Percentage of eligible teams would be interesting. But I was able to slap this together in 10 minutes. I don't even know how to determine the number of eligible schools in a state.

What was your guess(es)?

I’ve been trying this out with random people at the United Club in Newark. No one gets more than a few of the top ones. And no one picks Iowa despite my ISU jacket!
