I'm not super familiar with the south metro. I've only been once but this place is pretty good. Not really a sports bar but they have several big TVs that had sports on when I was there. Brew their own beer or have other beers and cocktails. Solid food.

If you want a bar feel Sports Page in Bloomington is a good place. Food is decent and drinks/food are priced reasonably.
The age of great sports bars has passed. I can't think of any. Sort of like the song lyrics "Video killed the radio star", big screen home TV and easy home access to games killed the bars dedicated to sports viewing. Okay, video didn't kill the radio star but you know what I mean.
Been a few years since I've been up there but the Lucky's 13 Pub chain always did well with food and TV's for sport watching when I would stop in. There's one in Burnsville and one in Bloomington if you're needing to be more toward the south side of town. Looks like the google reviews are still decent.
COVID sort of buried both but I think both were on the ropes before that. The restaurant/bar biz is mostly a short term venture. Senser's lasted 32 years, a good run. They kept trying to "reinvent themselves" before closing in 2020 but without much success. They had the same general manager for years and Steve was a good guy to work with and very accommodating to our ISU fans.
Hooters Bloomington is good for a game. Food is actually good and service is always great. Daytona shrimp is money and the beer is cold.

I'll keep an eye on this thread for recommendations as I'm new to MPLS. I'm in the NE area.

You're living in my favorite part of town. Knight Cap, Mayslacks or 1029 are all good dive bars that have some TVs. Mayslacks has some amazing sandwiches.
I looked at Knight Cap and Mayslacks for the KU game, but I wasn't sure they'd be able to accommodate since they look a little small. I'll keep those spots in mind, thanks!

I watched a couple games at knight cap. Just asked them to change a TV. Yeah great combo of dive bars, good restaurants and good breweries in that area. Stanley's is another place you could catch a game probably. If you ever need other recommendations let me know. There's lots of stuff in the North Loop area as well
