Saw this schedule for the 2002-2003 season and the women played an exhibition against Johnson Financial?

There is no college called that. There is a Johnson Financial company out of Wisconsin but that’s all I could find so far.

@ChrisMWilliams any way to get a confirmation on what the heck this team was? Or anyone else have info?

Also shout out to the Men’s playing Coe that year

I think the 05-06 men's team lost an exhibition game to EA sports 50-48. Not sure who was on the EA sports team or why it even existed.
Was it one of the factors that ended up pushing Wayne Morgan? I though we paid a third party to arrange that game..

Not sure but that's when I knew that team probably wasn't going to live up to expectations and get back to the tournament.

I think it was multiple factors, but I think Pollard didn't trust Morgan or believe in him. The fact that he ended up selling DirectTV systems rather than coaching kinda speaks for itself.

Johnson Financial was a "team" comprised mostly of former college players from Iowa/midwest.

That year the JF squad included the likes of Stephanie Schmitz, Erin Richards, Lisa Brinkmeyer and Jamie Anderson (all from Drake), and former Cyclones Megan Taylor and Sarah Robson.

JF played ISU, Drake, and UNI in exhibition games that season.

I would have followed Megan Taylor off a cliff around that time.

Here's the basic recap of the situation. (D1 scheduling is the "third party" but had nothing to do with EASports game, it was non-conference schedules)

Neither did the fans. He was just a stop gap after LE.

Back in the day it was a trend for companies to sponsor semi pro teams that went around and played pre season exhibitions against college teams. The NCAA outlawed it in the early 2000s and the teams disappeared.

Hello, great question, I have a project pertaining to this topic of every CycloneWBB game ever.

The Cyclones won 68-57 on Nov. 10, 2002.

Below is a box score.
