(Or Valentine's Day for you sappy people)

What is the greatest thing you've done alone on Valentine's Day or on the other side of the coin, what's the greatest thing you've done for a loved one?

Any traditions you have? Do you actually celebrate it a day or two in advance/after to avoid the crowds?

Just general chit chat or stories you want to share?

I always felt that being single from December first to March 1st was a wise choice. Avoid Christmas presents, avoid valentines presents and get to party with whoever for new years. I was pretty successful with that until my wife.

We dont do anything, I am not spending 8 bucks on a card that will just go into trash. Besides our kids have so many activities we dont have time. I guess I am painting our bathroom so that counts.

We used to do the whole big fancy dinner date thing. That lasted a few years.

Now we drive through McDonald's and laugh at how silly it was that we'd go through all the hassle of the crowds, costs, etc. We treat ourselves with a fancier dinner on average days through the year instead now.

My wife would make me a heart-shaped dinner. Heart-shaped steak. Heart-shaped potato. Heart-shaped jello salad. Heart-shaped pie. It was awesome.

Heart shaped steak and potato makes me think she cut some off and threw it away. Why would you do that?

I grilled her favorite thing outside in the rain and she made my favorite sides. We're going to watch a movie. Just about a perfect time for us!

Posh hotel. Dinner, wine, whole kielbasa. Got upgraded to a suite this year.

Not my wife. She put the trimmings into our next day's lunch!

Well then she's a keeper. The key to a good marriage is when your wife realizes that if she stuffs you for dinner then you'll be too tired to try and stuff her later.
