Will be interesting. Not a lot of turnaround time for Cyclones, fly home and play again. Maybe Joens and Diew can get Gaston and Faye outside if they can ht a bunch of threes. On the flip side they will be looking to eat us up in the paint and turn us over a bunch. Ryan has had at least 7 TO's in each of our last four games against the Long Horns. The only close game was the OT in the Big 12 tournament last year.

The OT says we can beat Texas but the way we have been playing it doesn't look promising. We shot over 50% from three in that OT game but gave up 19 pts in 5 minutes in OT. We will need to break out of our three slump in a big way to give us a chance in this game. (Ha, now watch us win 56-55 shooting 25%!)

Similar to the men shooting FT's. Brutal.

Randoms:

Texas will be without starter Sonya Morris.
We are 10-9 in Ames versus Texas.
All of our games with Texas have been under Fennelly so coaches record and school record is the same at 21-26.
Vic Schaefer is 6-0 versus us.

Saddest agree ever. Hate to be a Debbie Downer but this is the worst possible opponent we could play with the way things are going right now. Really wish this game wasn't on TV.:(
This is a tough week. I’m not feeling good right now. Winnable games? Yes. But only if a diff performance emerges.

The current .315 3pt% would be the third worst of the Fennelly era:

1. 2005-06 (.305) -- Solid shooters just struggled. Medders .305, Ronhovde .283, Ezell .322
2. 2015-16 (.307) -- Same. Kidd, Bridget, Jadda, Durr, Seanna all shot between .293 and .333
3. 2022-23 (.315) -- Ashley (.343) and Ryan (.373) are doing fairly well, but Ny (.315), Lexi (.297), Denae (.296), and MEM (.205) are all really struggling.
4. 2011-12 (.318) -- Hallie's .385 was offset by Moody's .291. Brynn was .322 and Loz was .331.

From there it's a big jump to #5: 2017-18 at .328.

This is the game that I figured at the beginning would decide the conference champion. But I didn't know that Soares would be lost and the guards would regress as they have. I sure didn't expect ISU to enter this game on a 3 game losing streak. I guess the game will still be the deciding factor in the race, but now as I see it a TX win just puts them in the drivers seat and a loss simply means they have suck it up and fight a little harder not to lose it.

If Ryan brings the ball up against Harmon we are in trouble. The games I saw where Texas got beat, whoever Harmon guarded headed down court as soon as ball went through the hoop, and they grabbed the ball and through it in right away.
