Our game sucked balls. But we gotta keep perspective. It honestly cannot be understated how tough this league is. That isn’t casual banter. It’s factual. In fact it’s the toughest league season maybe in decades.

Goal for us was to be a bubble team this year. We are gonna make it in. Yes it sucks to lose these close games no doubt. Season is still a success and can do damage.

Honestly as wobbly as ISU looks I'm hoping they can just keep it between the ditches and get in. They look ragged and I hate to throw the 'concerns' thing out there but Grill's antics need to go and don't help anything.

And if it all goes to hell, there's plenty of other things to look forward to over the next two-three months.

I wonder if Tech plays themselves into the NIT.

Seriously if they just make *mediocre* level of freethrow shots it would improve a lot.

Would be pretty awesome to get all 10 teams from the big 12 into the tournament. Unlikely, but it would be awesome.

The game threads are full of 'Oh crap, BRE is shooting free throws' like the rest of the team just lights things up.

I saw Grill was 1-5 FTs? He's been like 80% for the season, hasn't he?

But then I check his previous seasons and the average is like 65%

So, reversion to the mean, indeed.

Also time to start rooting for KSU and OSU and TCU to lose as much as possible regardless of home or away. We need to stay out of the wednesday games in KC. And OSU holds the tiebreaker on us now.

Grill looks like he took 'mentally tough' to 'fake mentally tough' and needs to straighten out.

There were some quotes from TJ about the team losing their composure and hopefully it gets righted.

I've got the B12 tourney on the backburner now and if ISU gets two more conference wins and gets into 'tourney lock' mode I don't really care how the conference tourney sorts out.

Yeah, with us as a 5-6 seed now, I am not as hyped for the conference tourney with our struggles. Focus is towards NCAA.

Okie State has won 5 of 6 and I just re-did the Big 12 Tourney simulator and this is what I got after today. Also...OSU will beat Kansas in Stillwater on Tuesday...

Basically...TCU on Wednesday is a massive massive game. I have us losing all road games and winning all home games.

Okie State has now won 7 of 8 with lone loss at Texas. And their remaining schedule isn't brutal.

If they continue playing like they have been...they could be a top 4 seed in KC which is insane.

If my research is right, and it probably isn't...

We have 8 losses and all of them are Q1 losses. Texas Tech was #75 in the NET today but beat #12 Kansas State so they'll bump quite a bit.

Losses and NET rankings of opponents:
#6 UCONN (neutral)
#9 Kansas (road)
#19 West Virginia (road)
#34 Oklahoma State (road/home and will move up)
#35 Iowa (road)
#51 Missouri (road and will move up)
#75 Texas Tech (road and will move up)

I have to think the number of teams with only Q1 losses isn't large.

Also wonder how many have 5 NET top 25 wins:
#10 Texas
#9 Kansas
#11 Baylor
#17 Kansas State
#24 TCU

And the number of teams with only Q1 losses + 5 top 25 NET wins has to be like...just us.

I posted in a thread awhile back that they're a team no one is going to want to face down the stretch.
