This should be a great game, much like the OSU game. Kansas was looking good when they entered conference play. They've lost a few that they feel like they should have won. Could be a barn burner.

  • The current standings are below. Upcoming games may see OU starting to hit the wall as Okie State comes to town, at Texas, at Hilton, West Virginia, and at Baylor. They then need to finish out the season strong. If they stumble, it may give us an opening to get back into a shot at the title.

Kansas is a team with a real post, not something we see every game in the Big 12. 6'-6" Taiyanna Jackson is averaging a double/double with three blocks a game. She was Big 12 defensive team last year. Has fouled out a couple of times. Will be up to Kane and others to keep her off the boards and not get going to much in the paint. She seems more a defensive and rebounding threat, not like someone who is going to go off for 24 points or something. She did have 19 reb at OSU and 6 blocks vs Baylor.

Well nephew and nieces game for me tomorrow. Started taking them when they turned 5 it was 6 now with their spouses and kids it is up to 13 this yr. Pizza before the game then the game. They are going to break me. It is cool that they still enjoy going after all these yrs. Most have missed 1 here and there over the yrs but the ISU niece has never missed one and it will be her daughter's 1st game this yr working on a 3rd generation Clone there.

KU could give us fits if we aren't playing solid defense. They have three guards averaging double figures (15/15/10) and the 6'6" post BoxterCy mentioned. She is averaging 15 points and 12 rebounds per game. Franklin (guard) is their 3 point ace as she is shooting 46% from deep. BUT...against good defense she really falters. If you don't cover her she will light you up big time. I expect to see Donarski cover her, Ryan cover Kersgeiter and a collapsing defense on Jackson (post) to deny her the ball.

Big 12 This Weekend

Saturday's Games (all on ESPN+)

12:00 - Texas Tech (3-3) at West Virginia (3-3)
5:00 - Kansas (3-3) at Iowa State (4-2)
6:00 - Oklahoma State (3-3) at Oklahoma (5-1)
6:30 - TCU (0-6) at Kansas State (1-5)

Sunday's Game
4:00 (ESPN2) - Texas (4-2) at Baylor (4-2)

Some brutal officiating in the final minute of Tech-WVU. WVU fouled a screener while a pass was in mid-air. After the foul, the ball was caught, shot from 3...and counted. Unreal.

At least WVU survived by making their FT late. 67-57 final.

Eeek.. 14 three point shots in the first quarter...and only two 2 point shots

You guys are gonna have to put up with my ramblings today as my usual wbb people on discord are taking today off :)

Announcer "Iowa State powering their way to the lead!" It's ISU 15 -12 end of 1st, all on three pointers. Powering, LOL.

So, if I were a Kansas fan I would complain about ESPN (our) announcers.

Sadly it's like that for almost all eapn+ broadcasts.. The home team supplies the announcers.. So it's better than not getting thr game on TV at all is how I look at it.

But also, I'm always here in Hilton for home games so I'm usually watching the replay later and have it muted
