My list would be

1. Nick Saban- Hate all you want. National Titles don't lie
2. Bill Snyder- Yes he never won a Natty. However, if anyone knew how bad K State was when he took over to where he got them. It's unreal
3. Bear Bryant- National Titles he is second
4. Bud Wilkinson- Undefeated Streak
5. Woody Hayes- Hate Ohio State and his career ended about as bad as you can imagine. Still 5 National Titles

Just curious how old are you? Not slamming you. Just curious if you were around when Kansas State was bad. I don't think you understand that Kansas State was so bad, Iowa State would count them as a win when we were horrible. They looked like a high school team. Snyder is unreal. Then retires and the program goes to crap, then unretires and brings the same program right back.

I'd have to add recent coaches like Dabo and Gary Patterson as at least getting a mention. Bob Stoops also.

I went with Saban number one just do to him taking over an Alabama program that was down and has been a pretty much dynasty. I could totally get behind Snyder being number 1 though.

Wrong. Winning multiple titles at Florida. Going to Ohio St and closing the gap with the SEC nearly immediately and getting another title there. Not to mention having a potentially the best team in the country at Utah that was denied a shot at the title and getting Bowling Green into the top 25.

Lincoln Riley might be on this list 10-15 years from now. I think he has a better winning % than Switzer and Stoops so far.

I predict Riley ends up in the NFL at some point in the next 4 years.

Lol you think Urban doesn’t belong because not enough longevity but bring up Lincoln Riley who was handed a thriving program, won nothing of significance, went to another historical powerhouse and couldn’t even win a conference title.

I'm not going to classify him as the Greatest College Coach. Nor am I bringing this up because of the recent passing. The question was who are the greatest college coaches ever? I would venture that Mike Leach warrants his name on the list somewhere. The man transformed college football as we know it and it has even trickled into professional football. He may not have the win/loss percentage others have, but he will go down as an offensive mastermind. His coaching tree is also pretty magnificent if you look out on the branches.

Definitely belongs on the list. His run of 10 straight top 4 finishes is extremely impressive. Likely wins multiple national titles in a four team playoff format as they were consistently the most talented teams throughout the 90s.
