Over the last year I’ve cut way back on what social media apps I have. No longer have Facebook as it’s nothing but memes and advertising nowadays. I use two different social media platforms, but see myself barely using them much.

Mainly Cyfan. I go on Facebook mainly to see what some people are up to from the past. My wife made me get instagram so I can watch her posts, but i don’t post anything myself. I deactivated my Twitter account, so hopefully that process is almost done. But again, I never posted anything on it , nor really used it.

She made me get it for that reason too.

Mainly message boards I do have a FB account but hardly touch it. The others no.

Cyclonefanatic

(if it counts)

LinkedIn

(very passively, mostly just to have a CV up online somewhere)

I like watching Korean play StarCraft: Brood War competitively on YouTube (if that counts).

That's it.

Facebook is the main one I use and I don't post much on it. Have Instagram just to view stuff but I never post on it. Guess CF and YT are technically social media too.

I have no desire to join Twitter but will probably have to get an account at some point when my kids are old enough to want one. I use Facebook way less than I used to. I like to keep tabs on people I don't see regularly but it saddens me to see some of the angry and hateful things some of my friends post too. I have a no politics policy for my FB page as I will not post nor comment on anything political as it usually never turns out the way you thought it would.

Social media has made me see a few friends in a different light at times too when they post some stuff or opinions that probably would be better kept to not share with everyone. They have to know that 100% of their friends and family do not share the exact same set of beliefs and opinions as they do so when I see stuff like "If you voted for so and so or believe in or like xyz then you can go pound sand or are a horrible person" type of posts it saddens me that some of my friends have some hate in their hearts that they can't respect that not everyone thinks like they do. I still love my friends and family but it's sad some vent things like that on social media but would never say it to your face in person knowing it could hurt or end your friendship.

CF but since it's not as invasive it hardly counts.

I 'go on' Twitter or YT but it's usually for entertainment like funny clips or outdoor videos/hacks. Never post on either or anything.

There's a great Tom Green (yeah, that one) from a few years ago about how it would look if we did this in like 1985 without social media, where you have to call up 200 people with your landline to tell them how stupid they are because of a different view point, but then still hang out with them on the weekends.

I experienced some of this when I was on FB--you might get into it with someone on there then seeing them in person was like you were in a different dimension where that FB 'interaction' never happened.

Same here

Although I spent about 20 minutes today watching fights in Popeye's restaurants.

There are way more Popeye's fights out there than I expected and do not eff with Popeye's staff. They will come across the counter and take it to the parking lot.

Even with that low level of humanity..... Twitter is still better than FB.

FB but only to read and some very specific groups. And I 99% read and almost never post. For some reason FB thinks I really like to watch vehicular accidents, especially trucks.

Youtube I posted some videos about 10 years ago. Watch random music videos.
