Don't get me wrong, she's a great player but I hope she brushes up on her math. Then she might realize that, when she is triple teamed, she must have 2 teammates that are wide open. It drives me crazy when she throws up a circus shot when there are others wide open on the 3 point line.

Hopefully the presence of Soares will alleviate that problem this year.

I like what Ashley does. She draws fouls, makes free throws, and gets opponents in foul trouble. Or pivots and finds herself open for a layup.

I meant outside of the schooling, her student teaching being beyond the classroom or curriculum.

But yeah, i guess the student teaching is part of the curriculum too, so I just used an incorrect term. Whatever it was dumb criticism.

While I saw this, I was more inclined to blame it on coaching than her play.

If you actually watched last season you would have seen an Ashley that did change. I saw her dish out more than she ever had before which led to more team involvement. Did it still happen from time to time? Sure, but nothing like in previous years.
I think it also helped with having a seasoned supporting cast. I hope for this year she will get more of a chance to play the 3 spot and not always the 4

Some stats to show how Ashley's game has changed over the years:

As a Freshman in 18-19 season she shot 72/197 from three and made 141 baskets total. So on this team with Bridget she was playing on the outside. Half of her shots made were from three. She had Merideth Burkhall, Ines Nezerwa, and Kristin Scott playing near the basket.

In 19-20 as a Sophomore, she was 41/122 from three and made 183 baskets total. So as she was playing inside more her 3 point attempts and makes significantly dropped. But I think her playing inside was what that team needed from her. Did not have Burkhall.

In 20-21 as a Junior she was 51/144 from 3 with 223 baskets total. So some more 3's but more baskets too! Again the team needed her to play inside.

This past year 21-22:she was 92/242 and made 224 baskets total. So she played outside significantly more last year as out post presence with the dynamic duo gave us good play. By far her best year from distance. And in my observation she added an affective mid-range jump shot too.

Nearest Kum & Go is in Muscatine but do get to town about once a week or so. I will have to go to Kum & Go more often when there.
