ESPN released the announcers for our 1st game

I still don't understand why an ESPN+ game is not at 6 or 7.
Yeah I figured out of the 2 games (SE MO & Ohio) one game would be at night and the other at 11 or in the afternoon. Nope, both at 1 pm.

Southeast Missouri State at Iowa State

Shawn Kenney, Todd Doxzon
Big 12 Now on ESPN+

Some pretty good games week 1!

It's not like college football is about to be destroyed. Ooof.

Anybody know how good Shawn Kenney is? And how long has Todd D. been doing color?

Todd does color work for the high school game of the week here in Omaha. With his background he has a real understanding of schemes. On a sidenote I always enjoyed watching Todd play back in the day. Not a lot of success in Ames but ended up spending a little time playing in the league with the Dolphins.

I think Iowa State plays a large role in picking the time, and we might even have full control over it, if it's on ESPN+.

JP has said before that these early afternoon times are preferred by the athletic department. 11:00 AM is an early morning and cuts into tailgating, and later in the day keeps staff members around until dark for post-game stuff (and I suspect an unstated reason is that later games have more police activity for publicly drunk frat boys).

That's what I was thinking. I bet the coach and athletic director have some say.

I also think the SDSU game from a few years ago has scared the athletic department from scheduling night games.
