I'm not a Notre Dame hater but I have a tough time seeing them as the 5th team.
I think GA and Clemson get shocked a few times this year too.

I am dubious about Oregon (new coach) and Pitt (generational QB gone). Clemson is ranked like they have a great QB, which maybe and maybe not.

Meatchicken will be the Fake ID team this year. First 4 games are cake, then at Iowa and Indy. Then PSU and MSU at home. Then 3 tomato cans. Then at OSU. They will probably be 10-1 or 9-2 going into OSU and lose by 30. Good team with great record, will be overranked all year.

Penn St is overlooked, think they should be ranked somewhere.

Pre season rankings are a combination last years results, returning players, recruiting rankings(5* & 4* guys on the team), respect for the coach, and history.

I actually think Iowa can do some damage this year. I like most of their starters.

No doubt they have a great defense. The offense needs to step up for that to happen though; they've been fantastic at winning the turnover margin but I feel that's one of those stats that is bound to turn on you at some point.
