He was the QB when I first started attending ISU games. My Dad would take me to Clyde Williams and we would sit in the North end zone for $1.
Interesting how Majors moved his 1000 yard rusher in 71 to QB in 72. Not wanting to derail the thread but it's part of their legacy.
I wasn't paying attention at the time, but I think it was more "how do we get both of these athletic QBs on the field at the same time?" He had the young dual threat QB coming in with a big frame (for the time - 6'2", 200 lb.) so he figured he could use him at RB until the QB seat was available for him.
A little history on George - he held the South Dakota state record in discus and shot put and played QB and LB in high school as well - All State at both positions. The discus record throw was the longest throw ever by a high schooler in the nation at that time. He played basketball and baseball as well.
