I was just at 80/35 last week, because I've wanted to see Father John Misty for forever, but haven't been to any concerts since pre-COVID.

What/who is the most recent concert you've been to? Not best, just most recent. When, and was it a good show?

Honestly can't remember. Went to an east side festival in June here in town and that was pretty fun. Not a 'concert' but there was live music.

MMJ was in town last weekend but I was out.

@Angie how was Father John Misty?

I saw singer-songwriter Jon McLaughlin (I know ... who?) at Wooly's in March 2020. Only about 50 people showed up and the next day, he cancelled the rest of his tour due to Covid. I like Jon a lot and have seen him 3-4 times now. Honestly, I'm a sucker for a dude singing piano-driven songs. I had fun, but I'm a little dismayed that that was my last show.

Before the world shut down, my husband and I had tickets to Summerfest for that summer -- we were aiming to see DMB and Blink-182 -- as well as a handful of other shows.

My next concert is Alanis Morissette at the fair. My inner teenager is very excited.

Think Slaughter at the Surf. About 300 it seemed like. Lead singer walked down into the crowd during the show, we were near the back and the other woman that was in our group was enthralled with him when she was younger so my wife about tackles him and they took a selfie with him.

Not included smaller acts or tribute bands.

I think the last concert I went to was The Steve Miller Band at Wells Fargo Arena which was June of 2019. Always wanted to see him live and he's going to be 79 this fall so was one I wanted to make a point to go to before he decides to stop touring. Wasn't a packed house by any means, they did not sell any upper deck tickets but I enjoyed the show.

Saw our favorite band at Red Rocks last fall. It was a really good time. But it was COLD. It was the last show of the season, two days before Halloween. It was probably in the 50s and sunny when the show started, and in the 40s and windy by the time it was over.

My wife and I made a weekend of it in Denver/Golden area and had a lot of fun.

Air Supply. Last show before kids.

They were surprisingly fun to watch and actually rocked a little.

I have a feeling my next show will be some sort of Paw Patrol live event....
I took a great niece to some Disney on ice thing when her mom went into labor a month early. I think I might prefer Paw Patrol.

I have been to dozens of ISU band concerts with all of my boys taking band. But I am without at least one ISU student for the first time since 2011. Not sure what I would like to go to other than maybe the DM Symphony. :D Pretty wild. And there is always the varsity marching band.

Red Rocks is on my bucket list. I'd love to see a show there.

My last concert was Duran Duran. Don't judge.

It was great. I'd definitely go again. I think it seats 10,000, but only drew about 3500 for this show which was honestly kind of nice. My only complaint was the weather. The show was about 5 hours long, which is a long time to stand on rock. Then add cold/wind and by the end of the night, we were ready to get out of the elements.

Biggest surprise was the food. They had some excellent tacos at their concession stands.

The Caminos at Atomic Pizza in Cresco last night. They're a popular NEIA cover band, and always put on a good show.

Last concert where you had to buy tickets in advance was Damn Quails at Cain's Ballroom in Tulsa in March of '21. Most of the localish shows I wanted to see last year were in the fall or spring when I was in the field.

Going to Drive-By Truckers at Hoyt Sherman next Friday though.

Not music, but my husband and I saw Jim Gaffigan when he was in Des Moines. We think it may have been our first live performance attendance that was unrelated to our kids or sports since before the oldest was born.
